Rated 45th in Scotland is Spey Valley. Worth playing for the views of the Cairngorms alone. Located in Aviemore is a stunning championship course that needs played whilst on a golfing trip to the highlands. Lengthy from the back tees, I opted for the yellows and it was still over 6,600 yards. Favourite hole has to be the 8th. A narrow tee shot with strategic trees placed preventing a cutting of the dog leg. The approach shot sees the views brought into play and possibly the beeeze as well. Like the PGA in Gleneagles there are lengthy walks from each hole so hire a buggy or bring or motocaddy! Price wise, best bet is to book via the McDonald hotel website, they have dynamic pricing and I played for ยฃ60 by booking late for an afternoon slot. Building dens and shelters can be a great activity for children and adults, getting people outdoors and into nature. I know I used to love building dens as a child As rangers if any are left up we do have to dismantle them. They may encourage people to do other bushcraft activities including using the wood for fires. We are currently in a hire fire risk so we are doing everything we can to prevent any.
