Excellent day’s work today. Started with a chiaroscuro focused visit to the National Galleries of Scotland with the Tuesday morning gang (sorry I was so busy enjoying myself I forgot to take pics). Then I had the pleasure of spending time with Tuesday’s P5 - P7, biscuit munching, afterschoolers as they finished off their scaling up exercise from last week. Excuses will limit your potential. Don’t let the illusion of time and space block you. You are capable of molding time and space to your desire. Go back to your why? Why do you want to create art? Why do you want to paint? If your why is authentic and rings true in your soul you will be motivated to keep going every day! Space. You can create art anywhere. I first started painting in one small corner of the house, on one corner of a table. While traveling I had a sketchbook and a pad of water color paper. I drew on the plane, I painted with acrylic pens on a patio table. If it is feeling challenging to find the space you want to paint. Activate the creative side of your mind to find creative solutions. There are possibilities, it may not be exactly how you envisioned at first but you can make it work! Time - make time your friend. All the above is true for time too. Clear a space and clear time. You get to choose how you spend your time. There are obligations, but if you really want to do something you will make time for it. You won’t care about getting up 30 minutes earlier, or watching less tv, or limiting social media time so you can do what your heart is calling you to do. It’s your choice. Make it feel good not forced. If you miss a day, it’s ok. Keep going! Have fun! A very full day of art, the first one I've had in months, maybe in over a year. Because I always mix too much paint, after fire and ice part two, I still had paint left over. I did the square with the diagonal running down it, and I STILL had lots of paint. So I decided to do a triptych with one being red, a second being blue, and the third, the middle piece, being the red versus blue. And since I STILL had left it over paint, I did two other pieces. My drying rack is full, which makes me happy, and I can't wait for these pieces to dry so that I can finish and arrange them. #art #artisgoodforthesoul #paintpouring #fluidart #coolvswarm #color
