It’s all fun and games until the fun has ran out and the games are going on a 15 hour day…but somehow we still enjoy our time together. Being a family owned business, ran on the land Tara raised her 3 children, on the land they rode their family horses and The land we all envisioned sharing this magical place with everyone. Megan & Connor 🌵 These two got married about a year ago in the pouring rain… and it wasn’t Megan’s dream “bridal” moment. When she reached out with her dream shoot ideas… I had to make it happen for them! Yesterday, Megan got her bridal moment in the Hoodoos of Drumheller. Megan looked absolutely stunning and we had so much fun! We embraced hurricane winds, sand blasting, tourists, inflatable Dino’s and multiple cactus. Congrats again to these two lovers, your love for each other was so incredibly easy to see. 🤎 I love capturing love in Alberta’s Prairies. 🌵🌾 . . . . . #ciarasandumphotography #elopement #elopmentlove #elopementphotography #drumhellerhoodoos #drumheller #drumhelleralberta #drumhellerphotographer #drumhellerphotography #hoodoo #hoodoos #drumhellerhoodoo #badlands #albertabadlands #weddingdress #weddingvibes #elopementvibes #confettimagazine #bohowedding #bohoweddingdress #bohoelopement #drumhellerwedding

Happy Earth Day World 🌍💙 Read below how Bridgeviews makes those small changes 👇🏽 We’re not asking for heaps of change or life altering decisions but we are asking for those small changes in life to make our planet clean. Having our whole business built on Alberta’s badlands beautiful landscape and being able to soak in the magic, we definitely want to be able to do our best to treat Mother Nature the way she deserves to be treated. Here are a couple ways we are taking the steps towards creating a cleaner planet. 1️⃣ Recycle Recycle Recycle! We are huge believers in recycling any bottles, cans, cardboard, bags etc. You will find numerous recycling bins all throughout our location and we encourage our guests to use them. 2️⃣ We have made, crafted or refurbished a lot of the items you see around Bridgeviews. We enjoy making something that was once used and abused into something beautiful. This small shift in how we do our shopping can lead to a notable reduction in our personal carbon footprint. 3️⃣ Solar energy! ☀️ We have chosen to use all of our lights, decor, flood lamps, lanterns and safety lights to be used all with solar panels. (We MAY also have some very exciting additions coming to Bridgeviews… but don’t worry the secret that will be out soon 🤫) 4️⃣ We never use pesticides, poisons or harmful chemicals. We believe if it’s not safe for us, it’s not safe for Mother Earth. We try our best to always use natural products, not only is it a peace of mind for our guests but for us as well knowing we are not causing destruction to our nature and wildlife. 5️⃣ No single use plastics! You’ll find our complementary coffee bar in the green house. There you will find biodegradable coffee cups and other recyclable items. We try our hardest to stay away from single use plastics and when there is a biodegradable chose, that’s the one that’s always chosen 👍🏽 Book now at 👇🏽 www.bridgeviews.ca Airbnb.com Booking.com #earthday #earthday2023 #earthsayeveryday #canada #mothernature #mothernaturerocks #albertabadlands #drumhellerhoodoos #drumheller #glamping #drumhellerglamping #albertaglamping #cleanplanet #greenplanet #earthdayactivities

1/3 The Little Church in Drumheller: A Tiny Sanctuary with a Big Heart Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Badlands, the Little Church in Drumheller, Alberta, stands as a testament to the ingenuity and spirit of the local community. Opened on July 9, 1958, this quaint structure was designed to offer a place of solace and reflection for travelers and residents alike. Despite its diminutive size, the Little Church has become a beloved landmark, known for its charming architecture and the serene atmosphere that envelops it. #drumheller #drumhelleralberta #alberta #albertaartist #tourism #explorealberta #badlands #albertabadlands #traveldrumheller #DrumhellerLittleChurch #TinyChurchBigHeart #DrumhellerLandmark #CanadianBadlands #TravelAlberta #HistoricDrumheller #SpiritOfDrumheller #DrumhellerTourism #UniqueChurches #ExploreDrumheller

2/3 (cont...) A Unique Tourist Attraction with a Humorous Twist The Little Church is famed for its capacity to seat “10,000 people – 6 at a time,” a humorous nod to its small yet welcoming nature. It doesn’t host regular services but remains open to the public, inviting visitors to experience its peaceful ambiance. The church was lovingly rebuilt in the early 1990s by the Drumheller Institution, ensuring its preservation for future generations to admire. As a non-denominational sanctuary, it embodies a spirit of inclusivity, offering a quiet moment of respite to all who enter its doors. #drumheller #drumhelleralberta #alberta #albertaartist #tourism #explorealberta #badlands #albertabadlands #traveldrumheller #DrumhellerLittleChurch #TinyChurchBigHeart #DrumhellerLandmark #CanadianBadlands #TravelAlberta #HistoricDrumheller #SpiritOfDrumheller #DrumhellerTourism #UniqueChurches #ExploreDrumheller

Its proximity to the Royal Tyrell Museum and Midland Provincial Park makes it an easy stop for those exploring the region’s rich paleontological history. 1/3 - Jurassic Lark My wife had to attend a professional development day for her school division in Drumheller, Alberta, so I was pressed into chauffeur duties. Drumheller is mainly known for one thing: Dinosaurs. Not live ones, of course, but for being home to one of the richest dinosaur fossil beds in the world. The town capitalizes on it. It’s all dinosaurs, everywhere you look in town from the monstrous tyrannosaurus rex that towers over the north entrance of Drumheller to the murals and benches. The dinosaur statues are maintained by a small army of volunteers and people are encouraged to pose with them and take selfies to post to Instagram and Facebook with the appropriate hashtags to put more eyes on the town and draw in the next tourist. If you see healthy businesses in town, you know that they are the ones getting a chunk of the tourist trade. The ones that are not part of large chains are usually upscale gastro pubs and tea houses. #dinosaur #dinosaurs #royaltyrell #royaltyrellmuseum #drumheller #drumhelleralberta #alberta #albertaartist #photowalk #tourism #travelalberta #explorealberta #badlands #albertabadlands #traveldrumheller

2/3 - Jurassic Lark (cont...) Not all of the businesses in town are benefitting from the tourism. Some are obviously distressed and others are closed. I had fun photographing them anyhow. It was nice to finally point a camera at the Waldorf. 3/3 - Jurassic Lark (cont...) I ended up at the Royal Tyrell Museum, but didn't go inside because the place was packed. Packed. Instead, I elected to do one of the badlands walking trails next to the museum as it was a mild day. The walking trails turned out to be challenging, as they were icy from previous hikers packing down the snow. I tried not to slide down the down slopes and not slide back down the up slopes. It was hard work! I finished the day with a visit to Horse Thief Canyon. The weird thing is that I had been there before with my mother at around age five or six, but didn't remember until I stood at that exact spot again. It was very cool. There are more pictures and words in the related blog post than will fit here on Instagram, so give it a read if you're up to it. For as long as I can remember I have been noticing and obsessing over the connections between nature and people. Each similarity like a magical thread. You see, it’s always been easy for me to find beauty in nature. In its cycles of death and rebirth, in the desert as much in the ocean. There is no single lane of beauty worth celebrating in nature. And it always has something new for us to discover and marvel at. It’s something I have been quietly exploring with my photography, particularly with outdoor portrait sessions. But I wasn’t letting myself really dig in the way and to the depth that I wanted to. I felt like I needed a plan. I neeeded to get it right. And what do you know. Years have past and most of the ideas still exist mostly in my head. So I’ve given myself permission to start excavating. To revisit old and recent work where these ideas were already seeping in. To get weird. To try new things. And hopefully make entirely new photographs. And IDEALLY share as I go. Rough drafts and all. Have I already hoarded a folder of work in progress images? (Maaaybe). So here is to releasing my grip. To letting it flow. Wherever it goes. I’ll start here. The badlands have always felt so special to me. I am drawn to them every year and see so much of myself within them. When I stopped at Horse Thief Canyon on this day, I new immediately that this image was a self-portrait. It was -20°c and the sun was going down, so there wasn’t time to over think. At first I felt like that was backbone stretched out in the canyon, but after I developed and scanned the image I knew what I saw. The carving of the creek, like capillaries, soon to be carrying life and water through an otherwise desert-like canyon. Everything paused in a season of rest, but soon to awaken and connect again with river in the distance. What do you see? 📷 RB67 🎞️ HP5

The Drumheller valley about as snowy as I’ve seen it! Some Rosebud kids made a short film several years ago, partially on these hills, that was set in space - it does look other-worldly! I have been noticing the impact my perspective has on how I interact with life. Both of these pictures are of the same rock formation. In one, the formation is what gives me a wide view of the surroundings. In the other, the formation is the entire view. Neither perspective is wrong, yet each provides a different experience. ⁣ ⁣ This isn't advocating a "life is all flowers and sunbeams" outlook. Perspective isn't about pretending that heartache and struggle don't exist. Rather, it's taking an honest look at what is in front of me, and noticing what I need for care and support in meeting it. ⁣ ⁣ Spiritual direction invites us to explore questions such as these. What is my perspective today? Does it invite me to more gentle compassion for myself? How do I experience the presence of the Divine in this experience? #rememberingmytruth #perspective #contemplativeliving #albertabadlands #spiritualdirection

Perspective ... it's a word that has been hovering in the background of my awareness for a little while now. A recent business related road trip offered me an opportunity to experience some new perspectives, play with a new skill (photograph), and experience a relationship in a new way. In the coming weeks, I am going to be paying attention to what grows out of this experience, and also what else helps me experience new perspective.⁣ ⁣ I'd love to hear from you ... what helps you see things in a different way, offers you a shift in perspective?⁣ #rememberingmytruth #albertabadlands #lovingphotography #contemplativeliving #perspective

Managed to find some decent weather for a pre-birthday hike for Sandra today! We saw a couple snowy owls, a snowshoe hare, and a few deer. Unfortunately it was incredibly muddy and slippery, severely limiting where we could wander and making some necessary parts treacherous.
