I am loving this series of shorts about David’s young life from Angel Studios. David is my favorite person in the entire Old Testament (followed closely by Noah and Jeremiah). His account means so much to me; how he was overlooked by his family yet he was the one God chose for an ultimate purpose (his dad didn’t even bring him out when Samuel asked to see ALL his sons). His courage and God-confidence. He had no fear when facing Goliath because he knew that God Most High would deliver the Philistines into his hand that day (“So that all the earth will know that there is a God in Israel!”). He wasn’t perfect but each time God brought his sin to his attention he was beside himself with grief and remorse and asked God to forgive him and have mercy on him. He felt alone, and depressed, and fell into despair and had times where he thought God abandoned him but he still went on serving Him and worshipping Him. Was anointed when he was a young teenager and waited on God until he was THIRTY. That is a long time, my friends. A LONG. TIME.
