After literally months of silence, State Library Victoria have now released a statement regarding their Teen Bootcamp program cancellation - and it's equally as disappointing and useless as the individual responses we've all been receiving (we did not screenshot the whole thing here; it's available on their site). They've chosen to release this on #IDAHOBIT of all days, despite the fact that the initial comments made about "safety concerns" were dangerously close to LGBTQI-phobic remarks/dogwhistles. This is completely tone deaf and contradicts CEO Paul Duldig's own public declaration (just last year!) of SLV's commitment to diversity and LGBTQI inclusion. ADDITIONALLY, they're doing all this while running Instagram ads asking us for financial donations... It's clear they believe they can just keep repeating the same nonsense and we'll eventually let it go - but that won't happen. Get on the phone and on socials to @creative_vic, ask @alianational to speak up about this, get emailing the Minister for Creative Industries [email protected] to demand Paul Duldig's Code of Conduct is investigated. 🏛️ Melbourne 🏛️ Deuxième plus grosse ville d'Australie après Sydney, Melbourne nous a beaucoup plu ! On a dormi dans une rue calme près d'un parc dans la banlieue nord. En 20 min de tram, on était dans le centre ! Comme d'habitude, des buildings, des vieux bâtiments, un immense marché couvert, un China Town, une place culturelle au bord de l'eau, une rue réservée au street art, un matcha latte au petit déjeuner, une pizza vegan au dîner, mais surtout... 📖 Une bibliothèque digne de grands films. On y est allés deux fois tellement on a aimé cet endroit.
