Bebê Rena🦌 Série de 2024, não é à toa que é um super sucesso da Netflix, essa série te faz sentir muitas coisas e acredito que é porque ela não só é baseada em fatos reais, mas também porque o ator que interpreta o cara que é perseguido, é o próprio autor da história, trazendo mais verdade pra interpretação, sem dizer que a atriz que interpreta a stalker é sensacional 😃 Donny é um comediante ruim, que acaba trabalhando em um pub, um dia ao atender uma cliente no bar, faz uma gentileza de lhe pagar um chá, mas o que poderia ser um gesto simples e de delicadeza, acaba se tornando o início de uma história perturbadora de perseguição, Martha acaba criando enredos em sua cabeça e fará de tudo para ter o seu Bebê Rena (Donny) só pra ela 😱 Além de nos inserir nessa história absurda, vamos conhecer um pouco mais sobre os personagens, principalmente sobre Donny que teve um passado bem perturbador também. É uma série que acima de tudo fala sobre doenças mentais e como elas podem ser sutis às vezes, mas não menos destrutivas. "Baby Reindeer" Genre: dark comedy, drama, thriller Baby Reindeer is based on creator Richard Gadd's real life experiences of being stalked in his 20s. The show is starkly candid and takes us into the psyche of both lead characters and what makes them do what they do. It unravels their trauma bit by bit but it's not critical of it and doesn't revel in it unlike some material. The series is very well shot and the editing between dark comedy and traumatic drama. The two leads, Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning are both amazing in very demanding parts. The show will leave you with so much to absorb that it will stay with you for weeks. Definitely not a show you just put on and binge but nonetheless one of the most punishing yet rewarding watches on television currently. Seguendo un po' il trend di instagram (e non solo) ho visto la miniserie di Netflix Baby Reindeer…Piccola Renna. Guardando questa serie mi sono chiesto come mai stesse ottenendo tutto questo clamore, non perché la reputi sopravvalutata, anzi l’ho trovata stupenda narrativamente e anche a livello di messa in scena…mi chiedevo cosa spingesse pubblico e critica ad apprezzarla cosi tanto e secondo me il motivo principale non sta nella qualità in se della serie ma nell’universalità della storia per come viene raccontata…perché bene o male (ovviamente nelle dovute proporzioni) molti di noi si sono trovati ad avvicinare persone solo per alimentare il nostro ego. C’è una domanda che viene detta nella serie che reputo giusta e giustificata ma che molto spesso viene posta in modo in sbagliato e con le finalità errate…cosa hai fatto per incoraggiarla, per illuderla, per provacarla etc. Una domanda legittima che però quando viene posta troppo spesso è accompagnato dal del biasimo e sembra quasi voler spostare la colpa…nella serie questa domanda viene posta e il protagonista ci risponde e ci fa capire cosa si cela in questo incoraggiamento, un bisogno che accomuna tutti noi che però ci porta a volta ad evitare di mettere dei paletti perché abbiamo necessità di farci avvicinare anche da persone apparentemente sgradevoli solo perché ci fanno sentire meglio, perché ci dicono quello che vorremo sentirci dire dalle persone a noi care. Più è grande questo bisogno e più alto il rischio di avvicinare persone problematiche che ci rendono difficile poi ripristinare una distanza a volte ci riesci e a volte invece la situazione diventa talmente insostenibile da spingerti in un pozzo fatto di bugie, vergogna e paranoia. La serie racconta gli eventi come una sorta di diario in cui assistiamo l’abisso in cui sprofonda il protagonista e la cosa più sconvolgente e che buona parte di questo senso di oppressione non nasce dalla stalker anzi la stalker diventa l’innesco per affrontare il vero trauma molto più oscuro che lo porterà ad affrontare demoni che aveva nascosto negli angoli oscuri della sua memoria. C’è tanto di cui parlare di questa serie ed è il motivo per cui è stato un successo.

"Baby Reindeer" es una adaptación de la aclamada obra unipersonal de Richard Gadd, que desarrolla la horrible historia de su experiencia al ser acosado por una mujer de mediana edad llamada Martha, a quien conoce en el pub donde trabaja. Ella consigue su dirección de correo electrónico y comienza a enviarle mensajes, incesantemente, a veces de manera coherente, a veces no, durante toda la noche, cada noche. Y la manera en que siempre terminan son "enviado desde mi iPhone", cuando la mujer ni siquiera tiene uno. Al principio, Baby Reindeer es escalofriante en casos pequeños como este. Pero a medida que el comportamiento de Martha se vuelve más obsesivo y el de Donny más autodestructivo, los dos quedan atrapados en una terrible espiral descendente. Este es un thriller de autodesprecio que es implacablemente sombrío y a la vez mórbidamente gracioso. Es una historia real, nos cuenta al principio, muy a lo Netflix. Gadd llevó por primera vez a Baby Reindeer a la periferia de Edimburgo en 2019 como una obra de una hora, resumiendo la historia hasta sus desgarradores elementos esenciales. Una pequeña muestra de empatía de Donny Dunn se convierte en una larga pesadilla cuando su receptora, Martha Scott, comienza a acosarlo. Igualmente fascinado y aterrado, Donny investiga a su acusadora, y los motivos que lo llevaron hasta esa lamentable situación. Hacía bastante que no veía una producción tan incómoda como "Baby Reindeer". Con sólo 7 capítulos de corta duración logra en el espectador una tormenta de emociones difícil de olvidar. Es una historia que, aunque real, bien manejada. Hay inevitables golpes de efecto con justificaciones narrativas, pero son omisiones bien elegidas. A la par del crecimiento en intensidad del conflicto, el guión se toma sus momentos para dar leves indicios de la interioridad de su protagonista. Todo cobra un nuevo sentido hacia la mitad del relato, y llegamos a un punto de inflexión final con los últimos manotazos de ahogado, tanto de Donny como de Martha. Es una gran lucha de voluntades de dos almas claramente heridas, y aunque muy errados en muchas cosas, uno no puede evitar empatizar con ellos. Protagoniza Richard Gadd, la víctima real de los hechos, como Donny. Pequeños gestos y miradas aquí y allá sugieren que algo más que una acusadora persigue a Donny, y Gadd logra poner sentido a ese caos interno para explicar las motivaciones de su personaje, y extraer de allí su errático accionar. Lo acompañan una insistente Jessica Gunning como Martha. Lejos de la simple caricatura, Gunning encuentra la forma de humanizar a la abusadora sin quebrar el ritmo narrativo. Completa Nava Mau como Teri, la resuelta terapista que llega apropiadamente a la vida de Donny. Ver la serie no será una experiencia en absoluto agradable. El juego con la banda sonora y la enbarrada fotografía nos llevan de a poco al fondo más oscuro para Donny. Y confirmar la parte real de lo que presenciamos lo hace aún más difícil. It's a raw and honest story that gave me goosebumps throughout! Once I started watching, I couldn't stop - binge-watching all 7 episodes in one sitting! Richard Gadd is not only incredibly brave for sharing his story, but he bought together a truly captivating series that was portrayed amazingly well. And the casting of Martha?!?! Just WOW. She was a 'character' who instantly made me unsettled. Certain comments, and her behaviour had my heart racing! Jessica Gunning ensured every moment was captivating, everything from her facial expressions, body language and dialogue just chilled me to my core!. There was moments where I did feel sorry for her, and there were moments that I was just genuinely scared of her. And that flip between a lonely, wounded soul and raging, vicious stalker is outstanding (and terrifying!). Gunning definitely should win all the awards! Touching on a few hard topics, this is definitely not a show for the faint-hearted and should come with some trigger warnings. TV REVIEW: 9/10 “i need a ncie boy totake care of me who looks likea baby reindeer” Everyone seems to be talking about Netflix’s new series Baby Reindeer and there’s just so much to say. This plot is absolutely wild, then to find out that it’s true and happened to the man who is acting this out is utterly jaw dropping. What seemingly starts out as a dark comedy about a bartender who offers a kindness to a lonely patron, who then becomes his stalker, leads us on an emotional journey as the stalking is used as a tool to unravel Donny’s buried trauma. The moments with Martha were so cringe, disturbing, but also portrayed in a very darkly funny way that they somehow were the lighter moments of this series compared to the grooming that Donny experienced. Donny’s obsession with trying to understand Martha and his role in all of this leaves a lot for the audience to unpack. We wouldn’t be surprised if Richard Gadd is up for an Emmy nom for just episodes 6 and 7 alone, that stand-up monologue in episode 6 left us speechless. The writing, as far as story telling, was really good. With so many questions that needed answeres, the writers kept it suspenseful all the way down to the last second of the show. A few characters had their own side stories, like Helen Chambers (Danielle Macdonald) & her husband (Greg Larsen), Kostas (Alex Dimitriades) & his brother Dimitri (Alex Andreas), and even those stories were intertwined with the main story & helped create more backstory to the main character. What I didn't like about the writing was some of the dialogue. At times (a lot of the times) the dialogue amongst characters felt very forced & unnatural. The witty banter was cool when it appeared, otherwise some of their exchanges were hard to listen to. Besides the parts that included bad dialogue, the acting was top-notch. This was my first experience with all of the actors, even though they've been in numerous films/shows before, and I was pleasantly surprised with their performances. Its a good show with high entertainment value. I didn't think it needed a second season, but since netflix knows whats best for me they're giving the US a second season on February 29th. Rating: 🧼🧼🧼½
Driving thru the Outback, The Man #JamieDornan (as he’s known thru most of the #TVSeries) stops at a gas station, looking to hide a package. Whatever that package is, someone in a large truck is after him for it, leading to a #Duel style chase scene, which ends w/ The Man’s car T-boned & the guy waking up in a hospital w/ no memory of who he is. Helen #DanielleMacdonald catches the case, even though she’s only provisional. She’s been a traffic cop & is now aiming higher, but not so much in her love life, as her fiancé Ethan #GregLarsen is a controlling, negging bastard. A slip of paper w/ time/date/place of a meeting provides a potential clue. The Man gets a lift there, where he meets Luci, the waitress #ShalomBruneFranklin, but before we can find out who he’s meeting, a bomb by his booth goes off. It was a trap! Along the way, we’re introduced to a theoretically good Detective #DamonHerriman & a local cop, looking into said explosion. There’s also a couple of Greek drug kingpins, Kostas #AlexDimitriadis & Marko #DamienStrouthos, who have an interesting relationship, that I won’t spoil. They’ve hired Billy #ÓlafurDarriÓlafsson, a large man, sporting a cowboy hat & inveterate liar. He’s the truck driver FYI. As the show progresses, we find out more & more about The Man, but it brings up a sort of moral quandary, as well as an existential 1. Who are we really? We’re the sum of our memories (which is a keen interest of mine). But what if those memories are removed? Is Man (& The Man) inherently Good? Does changing our memories change who we are? There’s a #Fargo -esque quality to the #TVShow, which spans 6 hrs on #Netflix. Maybe it’ll fill the hole left by the latest installment of that show. It has that weirdness factor to it. While I did enjoy watching, I couldn’t help but feel it would’ve been much better as a tighter #movie instead. But the Steaming Gods have to be heeded & for can’t imagine anyone turning down more $ for a series. It’s worth your time, either way.
