Little manga haul 📚 This is going wayyyyy back to March as this was a little haul I got while touring around Lethbridge with my cousin! I had an absolute blast and caved even though I had told myself I wasn’t going to buy manga on the trip just cause I was nervous of the travel back and potentially wrecking the books 🤪 Glad to say that didn’t happen and now we have some fun new additions to the collection. Here's my reading log for last week. I started reading Oyayubihime Infinity after seeing a review from @maeve_ever_manga. I'm also really enjoying it. I really like the cast of characters and the plot. People with the butterfly tattoos on their thumb have been reincarnated from a past life and the symbol is a promise to find each other. Our main characters have the tattoo and when their thumbs touch they see glimpses into their pasts, but there are more than just 2 tattoos, and they seemingly can be from different pairs of lovers in different ages. Who belongs to whom or how are they all connected. I like plots that act like mysteries and this one is no exception. The comedy hits, the characters are all different and fun to get to know. I can't wait to finish it up this week. I always have a good time reading The Abandoned Empress. It's one of the few manwha I've started so far, but after I'm done it I have a few others I want to jump into. It's also sort of a mystery to see how her life will have changed. Empress dies at the beginning of the first volume and the time is set back from her current age to when she was 10. She's trying to change her life's circumstances so it doesn't happen again. Right at the end of volume 7 we've gotten to the event that changed her life for the worse in her past life. I'm on the edge of my seat wanting to know how what she's been able to accomplish in these past years will shape what happens to her. The art in these volumes is stunning. I believe there are 9 volumes total. X/1999 continues to be somewhat of a slow burn, I kind of want more explained, but at least they're not repeating the same stuff (ish). It's now more battle orientated, who will come out on top or who will be left standing, and how much of Tokyo will be left even if the Dragons of Heaven succeed? Do the Dragons of Earth also have a point? Week 1: Manga I want available physically in English 🌎The World of Machida-kun 🌎 My all time favourite manga. This is the story about the most purehearted boy you'll ever meet, and the lives he has positively impacted without even realising how amazing he is. You'll be happy when he is happy, and pained by his low self-esteem. It's such a rare series that can make you love life and believe in people again, and I cannot recommend it enough. I even reviewed this series on Anilist 3 years ago! I'd be over the moon to own this physically. ❤️LOVE SO LIFE❤️ My favourite romance manga! Like Machida, it is very wholesome and the female lead has a heart of gold. The twins are also adorable and I reckon if you like Gakuen Babysitters you will just love this series! I like how warm it made me feel inside and believe it is one that could soothe you after a bad day 🙂 I would just be aware that there is an age gap (16 & 25) if this is a deal breaker for you, although romance is not the focus and there is no toxicity in their relationship at all. 🪽Angel Densetsu🪽 Such a fun delinquent manga. The MC is feared and takes a ragtag bunch of troublemakers under his wing without even intending to xD It's got a comedic approach that I can appreciate. Hopefully given the popularity of Claymore this series will one day get a physical print, but it's old so it will either require luck or the author creating a new hit series. 💅Veil 💅 Out of this world art! I am in awe at the character designs, the outfits on display and just how beautiful the female lead is. The art is definitely the main selling point but there is a slice of life focus to it too. — Blue eyes sword — Résumé : Après la chute de l’empire, Akame a entrepris un long voyage et est arrivée dans le lointain pays de Wakoku, situé à l’est. Dans ce pays en proie à la guerre, la jeune Hinowa part au combat avec l’espoir d’unifier le pays et de mettre fin aux troubles. En voyant la détermination et la sympathie de la jeune fille, Akame décide de se battre aux côtés de cette dernière... Ce manga est la suite directe de Red Eyes Sword (ou Akame ga kill), néanmoins, pas besoin de l’avoir lu avant car l’histoire est détachée de l’histoire de Red eyes sword. Après, il y aura juste certaines références a ce qu’il s’est passé avant et surtout, on retrouve avec grand plaisir le personnage d’Akame qui part pour de nouveaux horizons. L’histoire se focalise non pas sur Akame mais sur une nouvelle protagoniste, Hinowa ainsi que toute sa bande. On retrouve l’ambiance de Red Eyes Sword tout du long avec des combats sanglants, et des choses auxquels on ne s’attend pas. Meme si au départ, l’ambiance semble plus détendue, on retrouve très vite un coté plus sombre qu’on trouvait déjà sur les histoires précédantes. Après, cela se lit bien et les dessins sont plutot jolis. Si vous aimez les univers dark dans un monde a l’ancienne, ce manga est fait pour vous. A noter qu’on est pas sur du tout public ici. Die Autobiografie von Osamu Dazai habe ich nicht gelesen und kann die Manga-Adaption von Junji Ito deshalb nicht damit vergleichen, aber "No Longer Human" ist anderes als erwartet. Wir begleiten Yozo Oba durch sein Leben und schauen ihn dabei zu, wie er Schicksalsschläge erleidet, Menschen manipuliert und Fehler begeht – keine super innovative Geschichte, aber sowas erwarte ich von einer Biografie auch nicht. Ich dachte zu Beginn, dass es sich bei dem Hauptcharakter um Dazai handelt. Wie sich aber gegen Ende hin herausgestellt hat, sind die Beiden nicht ein und dieselbe Person. Das Einzige, was sie verbindet, ist ihre tragische und mit Niederlagen gefüllte Vergangenheit. Junji Itos Artstyle kennt man wahrscheinlich schon, viel muss ich dazu also nicht sagen. Ich bin ein riesen Fan von seinen Zeichnungen. Realistisch, abstrakt oder modern – es wird alles serviert. Alles in einem war der Manga ganz okay. Wenn ihr euch für den Schriftsteller Osamu Dazai und seine Lebensgeschichte interessiert, kann ich euch den Manga empfehlen. Naturally he clings to the first human to give his shrine statue any attention in many, many years - Izuki, who moves to take care of his uncle's house in the mountains But Haku has been on his own for too long, and as happy as he is to have Izuki, the loneliness and resentment of his previous master is too much for him to handle and the darkness within him spreads and once it takes over, the cozy life he has with Izuki will be finished First off; ANIMAL EARS. Instant like for me I love this manga and Haku. He's lived for centuries but still has childlike qualities when it comes to not wanting Izuki to leave, while he is tied between a lonely life in the city or an unknown life in the mountains with a Komainu guardian The ending broke me and put me back together again. I cried and the artwork is adorable!! It's a very bittersweet story about finding happiness and comfort despite what happens when they first meet 👀 but that could be put down to Haku already being alone and not in a good state (not excusing it, but once you read it, you can view it as thats the reason it happened) This does feel a little fast paced, but there is a lot to put into a oneshot to make it a complete story - and I feel like this story got completed. This is a complete series in Japanese that started getting printed in English last year, with each omnibus covering 3 volumes of the original. It is partly based on real people and part fiction, so if history is something that interests you, researching this should be fun. I’m not sure what I find more compelling about this series, the storytelling or its visual representation. The art is easily one of the best I’ve ever seen in manga and the story is pretty dark, depicting execution methods in graphic detail, as well as some deplorable parts of humanity. 🔥 𝗗𝗮𝗯𝗶 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 🔥 (enthält Spoiler zum Manga ⚠️) - Dabi ist und bleibt einfach einer meiner absoluten Lieblingscharaktere in My Hero Academia. Ich habe es schon einmal in einem älteren Post erwähnt und stehe auch heute noch dazu 🤩 Im Kampf gegen Shoto beweist er, dass er nicht nur aus dem Hintergrund agieren, sondern auch richtig kämpfen kann. Das haben wir in der Vergangenheit ja leider weniger gesehen. 😁 Auch sein neues Outfit, das laut Horikoshi an ein traditionelles Totengewand erinnern soll, finde ich sehr gut gewählt und runden den Kampf gegen Shoto gut ab. Hello, aujourd'hui je vais vous parler du webtoon "Freaking Romance" édité chez @neotoon_officiel 💕 On va suivre l'histoire de Zylith qui à l'âge de 18 ans va se voir être mise à la porte de chez elle et cela par ses propres parents car elle leur a désobéît.. Dans sa recherche d'appartement elle va trouver le logement idéal : lumineux, spacieux et surtout pas cher.. Mais il y'a bien une raison à cela.. Cet appartement est hanté par un mystérieux jeune homme.. Il ne semble pas la voir et dès qu'elle le touche, il disparaît... C'est donc le début de cette étrange collocation.. Comment vous dire ? J'AI KIFFÉ !!!!!!! Le mélange parfait entre surnaturel, romance, mystère, humour... Pour commencer j'ai clairement adoré les personnages principaux... ils sont tout les deux tellement touchants.. ils vivent des choses tellement difficiles.. on s'attache super vite à eux!! J'aime également le fait que l'on puisse voir le point de vu de nos deux protagonistes ! J'aime aussi le fait qu'on y aborde des sujets assez complexes.. parfois meme durs.. ça rajoute quelques choses de poignant à cette histoire.. nos deux protagonistes on tout les deux leurs lot de soucis... et cette solitude qui leurs pèsent énormément... meme si ils sont entourés.. parfois ça ne suffit pas.. Ce tome un m'a déjà tellement touché.. L'édition est magnifique... on y découvre de magnifiques planches qui nous transportent si bien dans ce magnifique univers.. Il vaut clairement son prix!! En tout cas j'ai super hâte de découvrir la suite de cette magnifique histoire !!! TEACH ME HOW TO KILL YOU, 1 @hayabusa_manga Durch puren Zufall bin ich auf diesen Manga aufmerksam geworden. Der Titel allein macht ja schon neugierig 😃 Doch um was geht es❓ Es geht um Riko und ihren Lehrer Sato. Genauer gesagt um deren Beziehung zueinander. Riko ist eine normale Schülerin, deren Eltern ermordet wurden. Also nimmt sie Nachhilfe bei Sato. Dieser (bei den Mädels) beliebte Lehrer gibt ihr aber nicht Nachhilfe in gewöhnlichen Schulfächern, sondern bringt ihr bei, wie man andere Menschen ermordet. So gibt es auch hier Theorie, Praxis und Prüfungen. Relativ früh im Band gibt es dann auch schon einen Plot Twist, welcher das ganze auf ein anderes Level hebt. Dieser Band ist unglaublich fesselnd geschrieben, schaut gut aus und macht Lust auf mehr. Nebenbei sollte auch erwähnt werden, dass es hier rein gar nicht zimperlich zur Sache geht. Es gibt schon explizite Gewaltdarstellung. Der erste Band hat mich so neugierig gemacht, dass ich mir gleich die Folgebände gekauft habe. Man mano che la storia si sviluppa, la trama ti cattura sempre di più, coinvolgendoti in un crescendo di emozioni e colpi di scena. E poi c'è il finale: lascia con una voglia irresistibile di sapere cosa succederà dopo. È un libro che inizia in sordina ma finisce con un'esplosione di curiosità e interesse. Smyrna and Capri 🌹🍾 This enemies to lovers omegaverse series is my favorite series by Brothers Without A Tomorrow 🥰 Because a lot of their series have dark themes and tragedy elements, I felt such unease while reading Smyrna and Capri 🫣 but really happy with the entire story, the character growth, the relationship development, it’s just such a beautiful and romantic series (and with really well placed spicy scenes) 🥰🫶 I love Theo and ADORE Seth/Seram 😩💘 My only complaint (literally only complaint) is that the ending felt a bit rushed 😭 That said, the series was supposed to be 60 chapters, but ended up at 70 chapters, so it could’ve been an even more rushed ending.. so I’m glad it got those extra ten chapters! 🥹 Really really hoping we will get the side story chapters mentioned at the conclusion of the main story!!! 🙏 I’ll pin a comment with the official Lezhin blurb for the series! 🧟♀️Zom 100🧟♀️ (Volume 13) As usual I loved the new volume of Zom 100. Also one of my favourite covers so far! I’m liking the new character and how she ties in with the vaccine. Also the reveal of how the virus may have started is cool. You don’t always get a ‘how it started’ so it’s nice to see some more plot detail. Il y a de l'action, du rythme, ça se lit vite et c'est agréable. Mao Mao a son petit caractère et la relation Mao Mao-Jinshi intrigue 👀 Les enquêtes sont vite résolues mais on sent qu'au fond il y a quelque chose de bien plus grand qui attend Mao Mao. Il y a des planches qui sont très jolies (regardez ma magnifique photo 🤭) mais j'avoue que par moments le dessin n'est pas très constant. En fonction de l'angle, j'ai l'impression que les personnages ont des traits différents mais heureusement ils sont facilement reconnaissables à leurs vêtements. Maintenant, si on compare les deux éditions existantes, je dirais que cette série-ci est beaucoup plus rythmée. L'action va plus vite et je pense qu'elle suit davantage la trame de la nouvelle dont elle est tirée. La série éditée chez @ki_oon_editions va plus dans le détail et propose plus de longueurs entre les enquêtes alors que la version Mana Books se lit plus vite. J'ai une petite préférence pour les dessins de chez Ki-oon mais je comprendrais que certains lecteurs adhérent davantage à celle-ci ! Cependant, personnellement, je ne m'imagine pas collectionner deux séries tirées de la même histoire. Celle de Ki-oon me convient parfaitement et vu que j'ai commencé à lire la série dans cette version et que j'ai déjà l'intégralité des tomes sortis, je pense me limiter à celle-là. La version Mana Books reste un très bon manga, qui plaira surtout aux personnes qui apprécient aller droit au but. ✨ Vous avez lu cette nouvelle version des Carnets de l'apothicaire ? Konnichiwa ihr Lieben!🌸 Was ein Tag gestern. Das war schon Hardcore muss ich ganz ehrlich gesagt gestehen. 😂 Wir waren schon mega früh unterwegs um alles zu schaffen... Erst Pfand weg bringen, im Asia Store, meine Frau beim Friseur abliefern für mich ging es dann weiter zum Action, New Yorker und dann auch zum Friseur - und als ich meine Frau abholte, war sie gerade fertig. Das nenne ich Timing!😋 Anschließend weiter zum dm, zum Fielmann für neue Brillen, ne Kleinigkeit futtern und zum Kaufland. Zuhause wurde in Blitzzusammenarbeit der Kuchen für Oma fertig gemacht. Und als wir zuhause waren, wurde für heute fleißig weiter gebacken 😭 Gesessen haben wir so wirklich richtig mit lecker Salat dann erst nach dem Duschen um 21.45 Uhr... mir tut jetzt noch alles weh. Heute geht es für meinen Schatz zum tätowieren, was deutlich entspannter wird.😂 ___________________________________________ Was ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte ist aber, dass mich diesen Monat bereits Band 2 der Reihe "Die tausendjährige Liebe des Dämons" von @tokyopop_deutschland erreicht hat. Decisamente interessante questo volume di Shy, non solo lo scontro tra Stigma e la mia adorata Lady Black volge al termine, ma come avevo intuito sembra esserci stata una defezione d'eccellenza negli amararilk, sono abbastanza curioso di vedere come si evolverà questa situazione all'interno del gruppo anche perché la figura di Stigma sembra essere sempre più controversa e precaria. Et encore heureux, car ce manga est si prenant ! 😉 Pleins d’enquêtes mystérieuses Avec ces tomes, on va découvrir plein de nouvelles personnes, dont certaines de l’ordre de l’écho noir. De nouvelles enquêtes auront lieu. Elles sont toutes ni trop courtes, ni trop longue et c’est ce que j’aime avec ce manga. Le tout s’enchaîne avec un bon rythme bien prenant. De plus, le style graphique m’épate toujours autant, tant il est détaillé et travaillé. 😍 Des arcs fascinant avec de l’action On y parlera de plein de sujets différents. De nécromancie, d’épée maudite, de sorcière muette, de vampire et bien encore. Le tout avec des scènes de combat très stylé et beau. ☆Hallo☆ Sword Art Online ist mir als erstes als Anime begegnet und nach und nach habe ich mir einige Mangabände dazu gekauft. Diese lagen dann ungelesen in meinem Regal, schließlich kannte ich die Story ja bereits. Doch jetzt dachte ich mir ich sollte mal wieder einige ungelesene ältere Bände lesen und habe mich für Sword Art Online Fairydance entschieden. Es ist der 2 Zyklus der Sword Art Online Reihe. Ich denke die meisten die das hier lesen werden auch in irgendeiner Form beteits Bekanntschaft mit Sword Art Online gemacht haben, sei es mit den Manga, Light Novel, dem Anime oder mit den Spielen. Deswegen werde ich nicht weiter darauf eingehen und nur so viel die 3 Bände waren sehr gut und auch der Zeichenstil hat mir wieder viel besser gefallen als in Sword Art Online Aincrad. Die Onlinewelt Alfheim ist auch sehr mysterös und gefällt mir gut. Ausserdem gibt es viele tolle neue Charaktere wie Leafa und alte Bekannte die wieder auftauchen. Eine spannende Reihe die sich sehr gut lesen lies. Inhalt: "Nach seiner Rückkehr aus der Online-Welt Aincrad muss Kazuto Kirigaya erfahren, dass seine Freundin Asuna das Spiel Sword Art Online nie verlassen konnte. Tokyo Aliens vol 3 💚👽💛 This series just gets better and better the more I read. I am OBSESSED with Naoe's work. His character designs and stories are just chefs kiss 😤 I love that we got to see Sho's realization on what happened with his past during the Hagukin incident. Based on that, I just KNOW this is going to unfold into an awesome story. I also love how Sho and Gunji just hit it off so quickly as black cat and golden retriever bros. Although he freaks out a lot, Gunji is just overall a good boy, so it makes sense for him. But I was surprised to see Sho swear to himself that he'd do everything in his power to protect Gunji going forward. At least that it happened so quickly. Hello Pumpkins 🎃 It’s only been a few months since I posted about the first volume of this series but I was too excited about the second volume not to post about it today! In this volume we get a better look at Sasaki outside of his interactions with Tayama and a little flashback of him in university. I already loved him as a character but the more we get to know him the more I adore him. Tayama is as cute and teasing as ever, we get to see a more vulnerable side of her and I think it shows that Yamada isn’t entirely a personality she only puts on for work. I think underneath her cool exterior she’s a lot more emotional and soft than she lets on. There’s a few moments that makes me think this might actually be going in a slow burn romance direction which I personally love. I haven’t been able to find much about the series online so I wasn’t sure going into it if it was going to be a romance or just a slice of life with an age gap friendship. Either way I’m fine with it but I think Sasaki and Tayama would be a really sweet couple. I can’t wait to see where volume 3 takes us!
