Meet Adam. I saw him in his wheelchair and my heart exploded. Big smile. Trying his hardest. I passed him by and waved. I thought: Dang!! What excuse does he have!? None. Holy sh*t! Yesss. So I stopped him and asked him why he does this. He said: “I want to bring awareness that this is not a limitation but rather a way of life.” I am so proud of those who make the choice to go out there and live a life of freedom in choices. I understand not everyone has time to exercise for hours, I know some people at this very moment that are on survival mode, I know people who are so exhausted from illness that can’t- but those who can, should. Merely because you CAN! What a privilege it is to do this. To my dear friend Adam, I feel a little late in posting something as other’s have been quick in displaying the impact you’ve had on so many around the globe—but as you’d say to me, “You are right where you’re supposed to be.” The thing about grief is that it has no beginning date or end. It hits when it wants and we must all process it at our own pace. It’s not fair. It’s not fair that someone who was further stepping into their greatness was called home while others who are full of volatile toxicity and bad intentions remain. Though you have changed people’s minds by bravely and authentically sharing your struggles, triumphs, and victories with mental health, it just doesn’t sit right within my spirit that you won’t be able to do so on a bigger platform that you deserved! Because of you I will continue to share my experiences to help others and honor you in doing so the most authentic way I can. There’s nothing I can say that wouldn’t only be an echo of the thousands of beautiful tributes to you as your peers, friends, and family are all processing through this pain of missing you. I KNOW you are enjoying all the sweets, performing karaoke to your favorite Britney Spears songs and finding rest in the hands of the Lord. We are ready to lick that stamp and send it 🏎🎟✅@prowire_performance_wiring for the mint engine loom, emtron KV8 ECU and Bosch motorsport DBW throttle body. @bypracing FOR modifying our existing exhaust so we could finally fit our @speed_science rear diffuser and sorting the drive by wire setup. @dna.autosport for a quick wheel alignment after we had some on and off track antics @jcoxauto for an 11th hour spanner check and some front end fixes to our splitter we managed to beat up with our offs! #belikeadam

I've been watching "Parenthood" (again) and just got to the episode where Christina is in the hospital. See how Adam is wearing a mask? He's wearing it to keep from spreading his germs and making her even sicker, because that's how germs - and, hey, this virus! - spread. He may not have any symptoms ("asymptomatic" - sound at all familiar?), but he knows he can still spread germs and infect someone vulnerable. Do you find yourself snacking, not because you're actually hungry but because you're just home ALL THE TIME? I feel you, dawg. You know you shouldn't be doing it - you know its not making you feel good at all - yet you just can't seem to stop your hand from rootling around the biscuit tin desperate to find the last chocolate bourbon, like Gollum trying to find the One Ring. Now, i want you to ask yourself whether or not this describes you at the moment... 1. You interpret your boredom as hunger. You're not actually hungry, you don't really want to eat, you're just bored. 2. You use food as an escape. You're stressed, overwhelmed and feeling a bit rubbish so you reach for the snacks to make you feel better. 3. That tube of Pringles, or that chocolate, makes you feel better... For like 10 minutes. Then you need something else to give you a little hit of happiness. Sound like you? You're not alone, everyone is facing this challenge. Heres the problem. You are currently forming habits deep within your brain about how you handle stressful situations and these habits don't just go away. They'll last, and grow and ultimately become damaging to your body, your fitness and your long term health. But, head up buttercup! It doesn't have to be that way. You just need to switch your mindset! Our members have completely owned this challenge. They've taken something that could've completely derailed their progress, seen the silver lining and rose to the challenge in spectacular fashion - i mean, we've had one member, Adam, lose over a stone of body fat in 5 weeks! (Seriously can't wait for you to see the progress photos - they are amazing) They've all done it by one simple strategy.. Reframing the challenge into a possibility for personal growth. Simply put.. This photo tells a great story! We took Adam out on a C&Y ‘charter’! You see Adam is a bait fisher, who used to use lip grips, he didn’t know any other way... He had never lure fished before.
