There are some memories that will always remain painful, yet blurred. Decisions made and later regretted. Stalking your dreams in silhouette. You don’t know when the memories will come, but when they do they evoke emotions of the ONE. Last night I was haunted by his silhouette again, a faded photo from long ago. My first true love. The one I let go of. ✦ 𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏 { swipe to read both pages } Good evening, lovely souls, my uploads have been a bit scattered these last few weeks or so, but rest assured my muse is speaking to me, and it is only lack of time that has me being a little less on here than I usually am 💛 Today’s poem is heavily inspired by Arthurian legend, and a mystical place known as Avalon; an isle of magick, and home of Viviane—lady of the Lake. Within the stories, Viviane is most often a witch of some kind, and on some occasions the paramour of Merlin, the wizard. These two souls are the council of Arthur, Viviane in some cases leading the would-be king to the stone from which he pulls the sword Excalibur, and in other cases bringing it to him from the island of Avalon. Both of them guide Arthur to become the fated ruler that will lead their world to peace and prosperity 🗡🛡♥️ In this day and age, I think many of us often flee in our books, music, and film, to escape a sense of reality, and for some reason my love for Arthurian lore was rekindled as I pondered this notion. Hello lovely souls, As some of you know, that either follow my stories, or with whom I have the pleasure to converse on a regular basis, about a month ago I returned to my roots as an illustrator and began working on rebuilding my entire portfolio from scratch ☺️ Updates on that are actually following this very week, as I’m nearly ready to start posting on a new page (!), yet what I wished to share today is that I might post here a little less. Truth be told, as my focus has drifted these last weeks, the words are not coming to me as easily as they usually do, nor is the slight challenge I set myself of only writing for monthly prompts helping me (🤷♀️) so instead of forcing them, I’ll just share poetic musings when that said muse sits herself upon my shoulder 💛 I hope the new week has begun wonderfully for you all, and I look forward to share more of my second passion in life—illustration—with you most likely starting tomorrow, so keep an eye on my stories and my feed alike~ With love, Kimberly 🧚♀️ PS.
