William Bouguereau (1825-1905) : Marguerite Boucicaut, 1875, huile sur toile, patrimoine Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche. La vie de Marguerite Boucicaut (1816-1887), née Guérin à Verjux en Saône-et-Loire, est un véritable mythe, de la pauvreté extrême à la richesse accomplie. Au décès de sa mère en 1828, elle rejoint son oncle à Paris. Elle tient plus tard un estaminet rue du Bac où elle rencontre Aristide Boucicaut. Les sources fiables témoignant de sa vie Au Bon Marché, de sa fonction et de son rôle auprès de son mari, sont rares. Son nom n'apparaît sur aucun acte de la société. Cependant, après les décès de son mari en 1877 et de son fils en 1879, elle devient seule propriétaire du Bon Marché et prend en charge la gestion du magasin. Il pittore in quest'opera rivela una grande audacia, si abbandona ad una sorta di esplorazione dei limiti estetici: intensifica le muscolature, che arrivano fino alla deformazione espressiva. Just completed this Master copy of William Bouguereau’s painting of La Petite Bergère. This was painted under the mentorship of the wonderful Maestro aka Michael John Angel from the Angel Academy in Florence. It was such a great learning experience to go through each step of the painting with him explaining in detail Bouguereau’s exact technique. I feel sure this will help enormously in my own portrait paintings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bouguereau (1825 – 1905) was a French academic painter. He received many honours from the Academy and became a Life Member in 1876. He received the Grand Medal of Honour in 1885, was appointed Commander of the Legion of Honor in 1885; and was made Grand Officier of the Legion of Honour in 1905. Sadly, with the arrival of the impressionist movement his work went out of fashion and he remained largely overlooked for a century. The painting was inspired by the classical poem “L’Aveugle,” or “The Blind,” by André Chénier (1762-1794), which describes a blind and noble bard who, wandering through the wilderness, is helped by a group of shepherds. Trained in the tradition of Jacques Louis David (1748-1825) and Jean Ingres (1780-1867), Bouguereau perpetuated the Neoclassicism of his predecessors and became one of the century’s leading proponents of French academic teaching. William Bouguereau | Santhatela Mais Foi um pintor francês, mestre do realismo acadêmico, cuja obra se destaca pela técnica impecável e pelo tratamento idealizado da forma humana. Nascido em La Rochelle, Bouguereau, desde cedo, demonstrou uma inclinação para as artes, sendo encorajado por sua família. Aos 20 anos, mudou-se para Paris para estudar na École des Beaux-Arts, sob a orientação de François-Édouard Picot, onde aperfeiçoou sua habilidade em desenho e pintura, especialmente de figuras humanas. Rapidamente, Bouguereau alcançou sucesso e reconhecimento. Em 1850, ele ganhou o prestigiado Prix de Rome, que lhe proporcionou a oportunidade de estudar na Academia Francesa em Roma. Lá, ele se aprofundou no estudo da arte renascentista e clássica, influências que permaneceriam visíveis em toda a sua carreira. Sua obra caracteriza-se pela utilização de temas mitológicos e religiosos, bem como retratos da vida rural francesa, sempre com um idealismo romântico e uma precisão quase fotográfica. Ao retornar a Paris, tornou-se um dos principais nomes da arte acadêmica, recebendo numerosas encomendas, incluindo trabalhos para igrejas e para a elite francesa. Foi professor na Academia Julian, influenciando várias gerações de artistas. Sua habilidade em capturar a beleza e a delicadeza do corpo humano feminino, em particular, fez com que suas obras fossem extremamente populares e procuradas por colecionadores. Apesar de sua popularidade durante o século XIX, o surgimento do impressionismo e de movimentos de vanguarda no início do século XX levou a uma diminuição do interesse por sua obra, considerada por alguns como ultrapassada e excessivamente idealizada. Contudo, nas últimas décadas, houve um ressurgimento do apreço por Bouguereau, reconhecendo-se sua técnica excepcional e a importância de sua contribuição para a história da arte. 🖼 𝗟𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 ¿Sabías que en la planta baja del Museo se exhibe nuevamente “𝗟𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝘀”, de William Adolphe Bouguereau? 🎨 Realizado en 1873, este óleo sobre tela representa a la 𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘇𝗮 𝘆 𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿. El 𝗰𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗱𝗼, 𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, que se impone a la mirada del espectador, da cuenta del 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮, una vertiente conservadora que marcó las normas y conformó el gusto de la burguesía de la época. La 𝗹𝘂𝘇, como proveniente de una fuente externa a la obra, provoca un 𝗷𝘂𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝘂𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘀 que resalta los volúmenes de la figura, así como las 𝗹𝗶́𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗷𝗼, fluidas y continuas, determinan con enorme precisión los contornos de las formas. Théophile Deyrolle (1844-1923) est un peintre, illustrateur, céramiste et voyageur français. Le peintre Jean Deyrolle est son petit-fils. Peintre, illustrateur, céramiste, Théophile Louis Deyrolle est né à Paris le 16 décembre 1844. Il étudie l’architecture puis entre à l’ @ecoledesbeauxarts dans les ateliers d’ #AlexandreCabanel et de #WilliamBouguereau C’est là qu’il se lie d’amitié avec #AlfredGuillou peintre originaire de #Concarneau où les deux hommes se rendent en 1871. Théophile Deyrolle devient breton et concarnois d’adoption, en épousant Suzanne Guillou, la sœur d’Alfred. Les deux #peintres sont considérés comme les fondateurs de l’Ecole de Concarneau. Installé dans la @ville_Concarneau il se consacre aux parcs à huitres le matin et passe ses après-midis à #peindre dans l’atelier de sa propriété. Il travaille aussi pour la #faïencerie HB de Quimper à la décoration de plats, d’assiettes, de vases aux motifs japonisants. Ses sujets picturaux favoris tournent autour de la vie portuaire. Il réalise des panneaux décoratifs pour divers hôtels de la région, des portraits, de nombreux paysages et, en 1909, une série de scènes pastorales. Théophile Deyrolle est mort à Concarneau le 14 décembre 1923.
