I proposed reintroducing coving and adding a stunning (bathroom safe) ceiling pendant and adding the most beautiful period style ceiling rose. I sourced the original style metro -hand glazed- tiles (that are in keeping with original Victorian size and shape-they are smaller than what you typically see today) to complete sympathetically this space-aligned to the era of this Victorian house. Well, I’m really frustrated because I wasn’t able to get the window apron installed yesterday, which I really wanted done before I posted a picture of the new window, but my saw was out of alignment, and not cooperating. Mr Mac is going to adjust the saw for me, but I’m too excited about the window to hold back any longer! So here it finally is! 🤩 . It’s so much prettier in person than in photographs, no matter how hard I try I can’t really capture the reality you see in person. I wish you all could see it. It sparkles when you move past it, and the colors change in the light. It looks like wet ice. 🩷 . I included in the carousel a picture of the two men who made it happen, @craigbaconstudio the artist who created the glass and Mr Mac who built the frame to make it work. Thank you Craig for being so patient with me and my 🐌 snail’s pace of construction. . I don’t know why I’m so worried about the pictures being complete, I still have to figure out all the accessories: towel bars, shelves, linens, a cabinet(?) etc. It’s still really far from being done, not to mention the fact there’s no door yet. 🙄. . . . Our Victorian cast iron bath project turned out really beautiful. The bath was sandblasted down to bare metal, patched up and primed, then we Raptor coated the outside with a tinted blue coating, the legs were powder coated silver and we enameled the inside. Ok, so I’ll admit, that if someone else posted this #beforeandafter I would be kicking off because the pictures are taken at totally different angles, but I took this nice evening light shot of the bathroom this week, and then couldn’t find any pictures of the old space shuttle shower from the same side. I can only apologise for this embarrassing rookie error 🫣 So, to explain, picture A is taken from the toilet (which stayed in the same corner) and picture B is from the doorway 😂 anyway… What you *can* see is what a totally uninspiring and bath-less place this room was when we moved in and how amazingly Alex executed my Victorian bath inspired vision of green.
