Bell metal is a bronze alloy traditionally used for making bells ring with musical resonance. 🔴 SOLD This beauty is for sale. I wanted to take a photo of it as soon as I sourced it in France. It was attached to a panel of wood which had rotted away across the base. I’ve carefully removed the door knocker and had a replacement nut made in keeping with the design. Over 11” in length and over 2 kilos in weight it’s perfect for a large door. What I love most is the old paint finish. It doesn’t quite show on the photo but there’s tiny bits of gilt alongside a pale pistachio across the surface which has likely been there for the past 200 years.
