Renowned equestrian and businesswoman Frances Dodge was the eldest daughter of John Dodge and Matilda Dodge Wilson, who grew up at Meadow Brook Hall. We had the most perfect time at @fascinationfactory_mi this weekend. Fascination Factory is located in Birmingham, Mi and is a play-based learning center with tons of eco-friendly toys that stimulate learning by encouraging kids to let their imagination take over.✨ What I love most about Fascination Factory is the wide open space with different stations set up in the room. Noah’s favorite area was the giant peg board wall! I was able to watch him play for 2 hours straight while relaxing in their cozy seats and grabbing a coffee from their cafe. We can’t wait to be back soon!🤩🌟

In honor of National Reading Month, we're showcasing Meadow Brook's beautiful library. The room's American oak paneling is done in a linenfold design and is paired with a detailed needlepoint Knole sofa, Tiffany glass medallions in the windows and a stunning stone fireplace. The frieze of portraits around the room features great philosophers, writers, musicians and artists from Beethoven to Socrates to Mark Twain. The books are from Matilda Dodge Wilson's personal collection and are original to the house. Matilda was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed nonfiction works about art, architecture, agriculture, animal husbandry and more. She treated her mother Matilda and stepfather Alfred Wilson to a six month long journey across 58 cities across North Africa, South Africa, Rhodesia, Egypt, India, Palestine, and Spain.
