There is an amazing storm going on around my house right now. A witch can look at a storm as a form of a battery. The energy that creates a storm charges the air all around you, to the very ground you stand on. To the wind that blows, and to the rain that falls, are all empowered. A storm carries all the elements a witch holds dear. Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Even Spirit, for a storm empowers people as well. So as a battery, a witch can learn to connect with the storm. There are many things that you can do to protect your home, attract prosperity or ward of negative people. What is Grounding? Grounding is basically balancing out the spiritual and physical energy in your body, by connecting yourself with the earth. When you are grounded, you feel like you are here, in the physical, in the present. To be grounded gives your energy a point of steadiness and you will feel clear, centered, strong and focused. Why ‘Grounding’ Needs To Be Part of Your Daily Routine Most people are unaware that they are ungrounded, and just carry on trying to survive each day. As a society, we are fast becoming disconnected from ourselves due to technology and being busy “doing” rather than “being”, that we have lost touch. Some people are thinkers, not feelers, so you are in your head more than you are in your body. You think about your feelings rather than feel them. If you are ungrounded, You may lack focus, Be easily distracted, Feel spacey, Scattered, Anxious And be easily affected by what’s going on around you (especially other people’s energy or mood). When I first started exploring mediumship I made contact with my guide Violet. Violet was pretty much Wednesday Addams but with purple in her hair and striped tights. Violet was the first guide I had any contact with and I assumed she was my main guide. However, after a few weeks of strong contact she seemed to back off. Bedtime rituals are the perfect way to wind down after a busy day. I usually begin with a relaxing bath with essential oils and Epsom salts. I follow this with journaling, a throw back to my teenage diary! I find writing really therapeutic. Finally I do my daily meditation. Sometimes it’s guided, sometimes it’s one that you can leave on while you sleep. Sometimes it’s just one with rain or birdsong to calm my racing mind so I can sleep. Happy Earth Day 🌎 Eco-anxiety describes the feeling of dread or overwhelm that can come up when thinking of the state of the planet and the uncertainty of the future. It can make you feel hopeless or angry. There are times this bubbles up for me, too, and in those moments, I try to pause, allow the feelings to be, then see how I can move on from them. This is important because we are not able to be in the best position to make change when we allow the anxiety to consume. One of the best ways to connect to the Earth is through gratitude. You can take a walk and note what you feel grateful for – the sun on your face, the gentle breeze rustling the trees, buzz of bees pollinating the flowers, songs of the birds. I love walking barefoot in the grass as much as possible. Try whatever helps you to feel most grounded. When we feel more connected to the Earth, we feel more empowered to do our part in protecting it. Use these affirmations in a meditation of your choosing or to calm when eco-anxiety runs high. There are lots of bath rituals out there, which is fabulous. But if you don’t have access to a bath, or you just don’t like baths, then there are some rituals you can do in the shower. One that I do regularly is to visualise all the negative energy that I have come into contact with is stuck to me like mud. New Crystal 💗 This week I got a beautiful Septarian heart. Septarian is a mixture of Aragonite, Calcite, and Limestone. The name Septarian comes from the Latin word septem, meaning seven since it seems to form in patterns of seven. The yellow colored material is Calcite, the brown is Aragonite, and the outer grey is Limestone. Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. This can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Even small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact. My go to self care routine includes a bath containing Epsom salts, lavender, chamomile, rose petals, rose quartz and amethyst. I light some candles and put on a guided meditation. I find this is the best way for me to relax, unwind and get myself back on track. I also journal a lot.
