Okay so I'm in the process of testing out my soaps and candles and already lessons are being learned, particularly with the candles. In terms of making sure the wick is in balance and the wax mixture is filled up to the brin. Now the main idea is before I make my sample boxes, I want to test these items out myself personally to make sure what I'm about to put out is safe. It's time for a screaming lesson. . . I did it!! I have made my very first soap bar!! It came with a kit that had a very nice selection of essential oils, and I'm not kidding. Never smelled chamomile without that chemically scent ya know? And lavender usually has a very citrus after smell to it. But these ones nope! In fact they smell very very good. Omg, I need to look into essential oils after this. Anyways!! I made this using the goat milk soap base, used Jasmine essential oils, mixed in with lavender color soap dye I got with my bath bombs, with the green soap dye I got from this kit. It kind of has a blue hue to it, but otherwise it came out a nice green shade. I added lavender herbs to the bottom, but I don't think I'll be mixing herbs with these bars of soap future wise. . . I did notice just like with my; resin, candle wax, and silicone, there is excess left over that you can take out and use for next time. It's pretty cool to be able to do this, as I was really worried about what to do with it. I mean yes its soap, but I don't want to waste even a drop of it lol. But for now imma store it up just in case i can melt it down into a final soap bar. (Also did you know bubbles form on the soap?? Totally new to me!) . . Love and Wisdom. The heart design didn’t come through as clearly on my Love design as I’d hoped. But, it is still so pretty, and it smells amazing!!! Scented with EOs of geranium, lavender, and tangerine! And I thought for sure the Wisdom design was going to be completely ruined. I splurged on a more expensive essential oil that I hadn’t used before. Apparently clary sage EO slows the solidifying process. And with all soap, but especially this technique, timing is everything!!! I went to bed very uncertain last night. Still, I’ve learned that I never really know the outcome until I cut it. It didn’t turn out exactly as I’d hoped, but it’s still pretty damn cool!! And it smells incredible! Scented with EOs of clary sage, orange, and lavender. They make a tool that would let me make this design in a fraction of the time. But I don’t have it right now, so I’m making these by hand.
