The Explorer2 16570 that I sold a month or so back for #whitewatchwednesday I’d owned it since March 2022 and had used it during the creation of many memories, both home and abroad. However it wasn’t without its issues! These included: Incorrect hands. They were tritium despite the dial being labelled “Swiss Made” which would mean they should’ve been super luminova Aftermarket crystal. I knew that the 5 digit Rolex of old don’t have an AR costing but mine seemed worse than most and when it was confirmed it explained it all. Lastly every single bracelet screw had been done up so tight that nobody could undo it. Only RSC have something that can sort it, so I never had a comfy fit. I put up with this as I loved the watch and was in blissful ignorance. I thought about putting it in for a service, but ultimately my love was tainted,so when a good price came it was swiftly moved on. Do I regret selling it? The actual reference yes I do a little, but I’m very happy that this watch is no longer mine 😂 Will another polar join the collection? Quite possibly! Im sure I’ll get gasps of shock when I say this, and boo’s from the crowd… but despite owning this polar for 6 months, I really never gelled with it. It’s a fantastic watch, and a standout piece, but I found myself rarely picking it from the watch box. As the vintage fascination continues and arguments for wrist time are becoming quite aggressive, perhaps it was time to say farewell. The Black Bay Pro that I was borrowing from the good folks at @bobswatches performed perfectly, and I truly appreciated the aesthetics and many design choices Tudor made for the watch. Yes, the watch sits tall on wrist, but it does feel good and snug in use thanks to its manageable case diameter and L2L in addition to the excellent bracelet. Tudor has been improving the thickness in terms of both mm and how the case looks over the last few releases. Esattamente 8 anni fa, il 19 maggio del 2016, revisionavo il mio primo Rolex (un Precision 6694 a carica manuale di mio zio). Di acqua sotto i ponti ne è passata. Da quel banchetto nella cameretta di casa di mamma a poter dire oggi di aver aperto il laboratorio che ho sempre sognato. Se mi chiedete come abbia fatto la risposta è non lo so. So solo che l’ho sempre desiderato e che ho avuto la grande fortuna di incontrare lungo il cammino persone che mi hanno aiutato a realizzare tutto questo. 2024-05-19: It's incredible how fast the weeks are speeding by. Next month it will have been a year since this account was started. Crazy to say the least but in the process I'm documenting the highlights with #WatchWeekRecap . My weekly review of the sets that were posted. My goal for the week was to continue to pull everything that I've learned so far into my images sets. Angles, felcto, lighting, wrist shots. Whats become somewhat clear is that I don't create enough reels and I really should given how important the IG algo prioritizes them. Anyhow, baby steps. I think out of the group my favorite is the Longines wrist shot although I do like the speedy lume as well. Regardless I've also realized that as much as I like catalogue type os compositions I love seeing watches on the wrist as it gives context to the viewer.
