Radical Optimism by Dua Lipa This is such a fun album and it continues to grow on me the more I listen. Dua kept her circle small when creating this album and had a mix of new and old collaborators. Kevin Parker of Tame Impala produced a majority of the album and his influence, specifically the neo-psychedelic sound, can be heard all over the album. One of my favorite songwriters, Caroline Ailin is a long time Dua-collaborator who is credited on the hits New Rules, Don't Start Now and Dance the Night (Caroline is also featured on one of my favorite running songs - "Last to Leave" by Louis the Child from 2017 and I've followed her career ever since!). I liked the singles from this album, but I immediately grew even fonder of some of the newer songs. I love the trio of These Walls, Watcha Doing and French Exit all in a row. Then Maria is an album highlight, right before the final song, Happy For You, which might even be my favorite. Something that surprised me was that I've seen a lot of opinions that this album is lackluster, that the singles were the only upbeat songs and that the whole vibe is confusing from the start or that it feels like Future Nostalgia rejects. I couldn't disagree more and instead feel as though Dua just has a signature sound as an artist, but is still able to try new things/work with new people and continues to create from new experiences in her life. This album is also released at the perfect time of the year and I'm sure I'll be listening all through Summer.

Artwork for @thefrontbottoms' "Rose" 10 year anniversary vinyl. For the anniversary of TFB's first grandma EP, I once again emulated Brian's style to create a patchwork quilt illustration with roses and leopard print (in reference to Rose's sweater on the original cover). Filled the patches with haphazard marker scribbles in Easter colors to top it all off.
