Avocados have an abundance of healthy fats. About 15% of an avocado is fat. The fat in an avocado is almost 70% oleic acid, a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. Monounsaturated fats can lower the risk of heart disease and help control blood glucose levels. But high fat is also a reason to limit the amount of avocado your dog eats. You want to limit fat in your dog’s diet to about 10% of total nutrients. So if you give him avocado sometimes, make sure you’re feeding him very lean meats. Then you can afford to give him some fatty avocado with its wealth of nutrients. There’s also a risk your dog could develop pancreatitis from the high fat content in avocados, if he eats too much of this rich treat. Last weekend we took a trip to Raleigh to participate in the Mid-Atlantic Hound Association shows. BoJack’s first show since 2021. He did great! He was so happy to be in the ring, in fact he was too happy 😂 on our down & back he insisted it was play time & wanted to hold my hand & his lead. ⛑️ ⛑️ Canine first aid qualified ✅✅ Fab day being taught by @rachelbeanrvn learnt so much and so happy that I now how the skills and knowledge of providing first aid to dogs if needed ❤️ Accidents can happen all over, at home, on walks, holidays etc where your dog or a dog you are looking after/work with may need first aid, this could be from applying a bandage to a cut or giving CPR, you may never think it could happen to you/a dog but you never know.
