Let’s shine our #spotlight on Charys Wright, a double major graduate at SUNY Adirondack for Culinary and Hospitality Management. Charys is I currently working in Saratoga at the Putnam Market creating beautiful boards and delicious food. While Charys was at Seasoned, one of her favorite class was butchering because it was so hands on. “It is goofy for me because I thought it was going to be the class I hated. The picture above was in class and I’m holding a pig spine. Ironically one of my favorite photos.” She worked as a work study student and it got her used to long hours and the intensity of the industry. She also had the privilege meeting notable chefs while at school like: Jet Tila, Aarti Sequeria, and Justin Warner. “I also got to have an in-depth conversation in front of an audience with Justin Warner about recipes. It was surreal.” While completing her degree, Charys said “few lessons I learned from being in classes, you get out what you put in. You know more than you think you know.” Her advice to our students “Keep your head up. Burns hurt but they aren’t as bad as you think they are. Eat when you can.
