The leather harness hanging from Peevy’s Polar Pipeline stand at DisneyWorld in FL? It’s the 1-off custom from the Lucky Lindy statue! Anyone familiar with the intricacies of both the hero and stunt versions of the production harnesses should be able to spot a number of abnormalities on the Lindy harness, including strange lag bolt heads (to bolt into the hollow statue), dark leather riveted banding holding the buckle and wildly uneven straps to fit around the sculpture. Years back the rare buckle was cut off/stolen and each day that passes the leather gets worse and worse and worse. Even now it may be too late to save it. The fiberglass and foam fullsize stunt rocketpack hanging with it? It was NOT used in the Lindy scenes nor was it mounted to the statue during the MGM exhibits. Just another spare. Digging through some old pictures from Peevy’s Polar Pipeline at MGM Studios. The helmet is an experimental pull apart for the skydiving scenes. It wasn’t ever used on screen. The pack is hard resin and seems to be either the one used for Lucky Lindy. This production made newspaper from The Rocketeer was on display for several years at Peevy’s Polar Pipeline at MGM/Hollywood Studios. It was one of the three newspaper styles made for the film, this particular one being the version Neville Sinclair is reading on the movie set. This particular paper was likely the same one that earlier appeared in The Rocketeer Gallery exhibit at this same park. As seen in @rocketeer_radio ‘s post from July 31st 2021 (photo 3) it has since been removed, leaving only a set of hooks. Hopefully it was removed by Disney and not an overzealous fan.
