Dirty Bones Oxford 🦴 D.B had quite a good mix of menu options, offering a whole extra brunch menu on Sundays, but what hot us was the repetitiveness of the menu… when you have signature products, we can understand why you’d want to incorporate them whenever you can e.g. The buttermilk fried chicken, so totally delicious… and you can choose to have it as it was, in a burger, in a burger with different types of sauce on top, in a taco, with a waffle, or on a salad etc. again totally fine, but if aren’t feeling the chicken, that rights off half of your options… if you don’t fancy meat + carb that’s half of your options gone… it feels like you have a very broad menu, but with little choice..? And on that note… we found it really hard to pick what to have! We were both keep on the idea of having some kind of chicken and some kind of burger, so we did our typically and asked the waitress to give us they recommendations! The Mac Daddy - without hesitation our waitress picked this burger, however we weren’t convinced. A double beef burger topped with beef brisket and mac n’ cheese! All in a BBQ sauce covered brioche bun…. A lot of elements but nothing to rave about 😅 The patty was good - nice and crispy. There wasn’t much of mn’c or the brisket so hard to get a fair opinion really, but there wasn’t really a cheese flavour to the mn’c and the brisket was quite dry, even with the BBQ sauce on it. Crispy Fried Chicken - nothing short of chicken on a plate! 3 decent size pieces of beautiful seasoned and fried tender chicken. It wasn’t not greasy but it was greasy in a bad way… if that makes sense! We really liked the chicken with the maple syrup, Annabelle was lease keen on the ranch, she felt it tasted like the mint yogurt you get from a Chinese takeaway. We loved the chicken but regretted not getting it as part of something, like the loaded fries or even the salad. Skinny fries - really good, perfectly fried, not greasy, not heavy, crisp and crunchy. So good. Kinda tasted like cheese and onion Walkers… anyone else agree? We didn’t mind Dirty Bones, the food was good but we aren’t that fussed about going back, maybe it was just our choices, or the day or what..!

~ The Royal Oak, Burford ~ I last visited @theroyaloakburford back in January when visiting my parents in the Cotswolds; it’s one of our favourite pubs for a Sunday lunch. 📍Theo’s, Oxford Although @theoscafeoxford has a lovely interior, cosy sitting spots, and a good selection of pastries, I wasn’t too keen on this raspberry cruffin. It was my first time trying a cruffin - I found it to be too stiff and crunchy, and the raspberry filling was too sharp and strong. Also, the hot chocolate wasn’t chocolatey enough- I only ended up having half the cup. Wooden décor in Bangkok House features carvings that would look at home in Bangkok’s Grand Palace, doesn’t seem to have changed since the dawn of time. The food looks uninspiring, adorned with garnish straight out of the 70s, but it tastes pretty authentic, with well-seasoned dishes and nicely cooked food. TRUFFLE MAYO & CARAMELISED ONION & BACON & CHEESE BURGER 🍔🤯 📍 @theoldauctioneerbanbury I mean I don’t even need to say it, you can just see - this burger was EPIC. The meat was so fresh and juicy that even though this burger was massive, it was actually super easy to eat and I didn’t feel super bloated afterwards! The combination of flavours and textures were to die for. I’ve never been to Banbury before but we just googled “best places to eat” and this came up first. To be honest, I think Google was right. The pub cooks absolutely everything fresh to order and their menu is HUGE! Something for everyone. The setting for The Old Auctioneer is also so nice, it’s the third oldest building in Banbury so it’s got a lot of history which is maintained whilst also giving a more modern fresh feel. Agriturismo Del Sole - This place alone needed a spot on the grid. 10 pictures was not enough to showcase how incredible it was. 📍Dine ‘N’ Devour Street Food Festival Last weekend I headed over to @dinendevourfood who host street food festivals at various locations around the UK! It was my first time trying one of their events and it was so popular.
