Photo dump because grief. I never imagined how deep & vast my grief would be losing this guy. I’ve endured the loss of fur babies & human family. But it feels like nothing has quite compared to this. There’s just been something so special about our relationship, the bond we shared, & the trust we had in each other. We both knew the horrible parts of this world, but we could get through it together. It hurts so much to be alone in the world again. Loving Wes & focusing on his needs, gave me a purpose when I can do so little. I wish we could have had more years together. I never imagined we’d say goodbye so soon. This precious boy has gained his wings 🪽. He fell asleep at home, on his cozy bed, scoffing his face with Easter eggs. He was the absolute most sweetest snuggle bug. He loved sniffing everything he possibly could & eating all the food. I know he was also an amazing advocate for greyhounds, to everyone he met. I am devastated, but after this past week he really showed us it was time. 🐄 A very special moment of two rescues reunited! 🖤 My boy Grings alongside the gorgeous Finlay…these two were rescued together, alongside two others, back in 2014! They were nursed back to health and the 4 lived together at the rescue while they grew up. Finlay was adopted by Irene who was an integral part of the team that rescued them originally and Finlay stole her heart along the way. I volunteered at the same place in 2014 but it wasn’t until 2019 and the universe intervened and I was able to adopt Grings. To see them now together is heartwarming all these years later! Finlay actually lives at the yard I go for lessons at so this won’t be the last time they see each other! Great to see them showing what they can do!
