Orange is the new black. Or something like that. When it warms up again next spring, we’ll add lots of ornamental grasses and other landscaping around the new pathway to the front door, along with a metal roof. There have been so many small, incremental improvements over the last 10 months that we haven’t had many opportunities for any ‘big reveals.’ Until now. The original stairs were more like a loft ladder. Not safe and not too pretty. One of the first things we did was to open up the space and build a floating staircase. Love that sunrise glow. Made the early hours, humidity, and trek up to the spot worth it. Could’ve done without the flies though. If you get the chance to cruise highway 61 from Duluth to Grand Portage, do it. That Lake Superior coastline is amazing. Tettegouche State Park in Minnesota was just breathtaking. Every turn we made on Shovel Point Trail took us to a new an incredible view of Lake Superior and it’s coastline. Definitely get out there. We loved it, and we’re sure anyone else would too!
