For our first version of Charles Dickens’ chain-dragging specter (on the left) we went with a very desaturated, ghostly color palette, including lower legs that were transparent as if the ghost was materializing in front of Scrooge’s eyes. For our new version (on the right), we elected to brighten up the blue colors for a look reminiscent of Disney’s Haunted Mansion ghosts. We also gave him a glow-in-the-dark feature, which is always fun! All the items that came with the original Marley, including the “bonus head” in the safe, are included with this new version as well. A stark white silhouette adorned in the famous cluster of chains (created by the brilliant @chrisbennett.art), and punctuated by a single pop of red to represent hope and redemption- A thematic device we tried to weave throughout with the costumes! As per lots of the characters in this show I got to go ham with the weathering - ripping, fraying, splatting, spraying and lots of layering.
