Without the 2 of you my confinement period would have been difficult. I am glad that my sis in law recommended Aunty Malar specifically to do my confinement and now I know why she said that. Aunty Malar is a gem of a person, from Day 1 I felt very comfortable with her. She is not someone who comes to do her job and leaves. She takes time to listen to our postpartum issues and tries to motivate and gives a solution to it. Besides that, a few days before the confinement is over, she teaches us on how to massage and bathe the baby. Not many do that as it's not part of the package. She recommends on products to use for your baby as well. My son had constipation issues and she is so good that her massages will make him poop 😂. I also enjoyed the hot bath and massages that she does. I had my docs check up after 2 weeks from giving birth, and touchwood everything was fine and thank you Aunty Malar for taking good care of me and making sure I'm healing. Sigh, I will miss Aunty Malar. She is not only my therapist but she is part of our family now. ❤️ Not forgetting, I should be thanking Reena Akka for the delicious confinement meals and drinks. I first thought confinement food would be in bad shape. However, after eating her food now.. I don't mind eating it everyday 🥹. As your body is still recovering from delivery, it is essential to have proper posture and comfortable position when doing chores so as not to hurt your back and tummy. . Let's talk about Postpartum Depression (PPD). . We are aware of this term, but it's not a norm to address the issue due to lack of awareness and society norms. Mental Health Care is associated with the word "paithiyum" 🙄 when, in reality, it is as important as the air you breathe. . There are many causes to PPD, but the main reason would be lack of social support and domestical abuse (physical or verbal). It usually develops within 6-8 weeks of a newborn arrival, in some cases during pregnancy. . Dealing with postpartum: 1. Once you realise you are feeling burnout, plzzzz ask for help 🙏🙏. Speak to someone you are comfortable with, and address the feelings (for the sake and safety of your child as well) 2. Limit your visitors during the 1st 4-6 weeks of delivery ( babies are most vulnerable to infection during this time, and you get to know your babies pattern) 3. Sleep well and give yourself a break Speak to your partner and get them involved. Take turns of shift so both get enough rest. There is a lot that can happen from a sleep deprived person. . REMEMBER MUMMIES: Once you start feeling burn out, speak to someone about it and get the help you need. Moms are superheroes, but you are human, too. I am glad that I took up their service for my postpartum care. Took 30 days of baby care, 16 days of baby care and food. Their food was all good and healthy. Food was mostly focused on mother healing and breast milk production. Mila took a good care of my baby and she provided me with all the information that I need. She never failed to educate me with everything that I need to know as a first time mom. She was more like a friend to me and someone that I could share a good bonding for a long term. I extended baby care for another 60 days and yes she did took an utmost care for my son and she did an amazing job. Their mother care package is also amazing and I did recover fast from my birthing experience.
