Here we are enjoying the last rays of sun in Autumn 🍁 Winter in Tassie can be very dark already it's pitch black by 4pm at our place. We've had lots of new followers recently so I thought I'd do a new introductory post. We are Anne and Dane and I (Anne) manage this account and you can find Dane over @chickenshitfarm . We have a dream to develop a Bee sanctuary and permaculture farm by hand I would love one day to have a little on site farm shop and run tours but that's a dream long in the future. While we are renting and our children are young we've decided to just focus on a online farm shop and sharing our happenings with you here. We don't use machines just man power we have been on this land for 6 years hoping to stay until we get to our forever farm. Our three children are home educated and have been living this homestead life in rentals since our eldest was born twelve years ago they don't know life before chickens and homegrown food. This is our full time hustle but Dane previously worked on various other farms over the last 10 years until we decided to give it our all and see if we could make it work. I'm so proud of how our business has grown literally from the ground up. I make a lot of our products inspired by the seasons and what we grow and have excess of. I thrive on organised chaos and while I should probably start using excel spreadsheets you are more likely to find hundreds of hand scrawled lists littered around the place. I recently listened to the Futuresteading by Jade over @black_barn_farm who was interviewing Tammy white from @wingandaprayerfarm and a lightbulb went off where I felt a great kinship knowing I wasn't the only one who functioned this way 😆 I hope you enjoy the snippets of life and our business we share here thanks for following along and supporting our small business 🙏
