「That Place 🍳」 We all know that place right… 😂 Had a nice sunny brunch at this cafe in Mascot ☀️ - food is solid here and staff are friendly. The Breakfast in Dublin is super unique here - a very English take on a big breakfast, with blood sausage and pudding (I wasn’t the biggest fan but it’s interesting to try 👀!). 「Flying Tigress 🇹🇭 」 Flavours really be soaring at the Flying Tigress 🐅 I’ve found another Thai spot located in the heart of CBD (very close to World Square)! There’s a bunch of savoury dishes like Grilled Wagyu Fried Rice 🥩, Crispy Pork Belly Salted Egg Fried Rice 🍚 and Khao Soi Noodles 🍜. They’re all pretty decent (but not particularly mind blowing), but I really enjoyed their desserts selection - particularly the Ice Cream Ruam Mit (Thai Coconut) Bun🍨! 「Thai Riffic 🇹🇭」 Definitely a thai-riffic feast 😋 Situated on Level 5 of Westfield Sydney, this Thai eatery offers a fantastic lunch option or a quick post-work treat 🤤! Prices are incredibly reasonable, with weekly special sets available for $20 and under 👌🏻. The food here is super solid 🌟 - standout dishes include the mama with salted egg and prawn 🍜 (the salted egg flavor is divine, and the prawn serving is so generous) and the Thai chicken roti taco 🌮 (the combination of roti and chicken curry is amazing, simple yet delicious 👍🏻). 「Nopales 🌮」 Guac ‘n roll into some delicious Mexican food 🥑 🤤 Discovered this little neighbourhood restaurant in the Northern Beaches, and it’s straight up the best Mexican spot I’ve tried North of the bridge! I tried the Chef’s Tasting Menu, which is an absolute bargain at $79 for 6 courses. Highlights included the flavorful guacamole 🥑, yummy pork and fish tacos 🌮, and the impeccably crispy churros served with coconut ice cream 🍨. While the kingfish was fresh, the sauce was a tad overpowering, and the rib eye also leaned towards the tougher side. The Coco Margarita was a great drink though, delightfully balanced blend of classic flavors with a coconut twist 🥥. Found another hidden gem located in Rhodes Waterside Shopping Centre 💎, where every dish we ordered just slapped! Their most iconic dish is probably the urban hotcakes, which are topped with a generous drizzle of biscoff and fresh fruit 🍓🍌, and I adored it as a massive biscoff-lover! 「Lee’s Dumpling 🥟」 For some reason, I find dumplings so filling… 😂 From the same owners behind Nanjing Dumpling, Lee’s Dumpling has made its debut on George Street in Haymarket 🤩. The reasonably priced meals make it an ideal spot for an affordable and satisfying meal. My top pick was definitely the Xiao Long Bao, the soup was super flavourful 🤤. The Boiled Tender Chicken with Noodles was my favourite main - chicken was sooo tender and came with delicious sauce 🍗. While the Sweet and Sour Ribs and Pan Fried Dumplings were pretty decent, I definitely preferred the former dishes. The sweet tofu pudding was less sweet compared to what I’m used to so I wasn’t really a fan, but the soy milk was on point 👍🏻. 「Glaçage 🍳」 Toastin’ to the most important meal of the weekend 🍞! The dining experience at Glacalge, a local cafe in Bankstown, was super delightful- every dish we ordered had solid flavours and a very reasonable price. The schnitzel Panini, though nothing too out-of-the-world, is literally a steal with those large portions at just $16 🤩. The shrimp tacos with sweet mango pieces 🍤🥭were a unique twist to the dish. The Fruit Ninja juice is a refreshing blend of fruity flavours, that I highly recommend too 🍉! I’ve discovered a fantastic premium hotpot spot with delectable meat and heartwarming broths 🍲, right in Sydney CBD (World Square)! I absolutely loved the Hokkaido style miso soup, available in individual or shared pots with various flavors like tomato and laksa 👍🏻. The Seafood Set was an absolute feast with all the hotpot staples 🥩🥬🦪 - featuring wagyu, lamb, veggies, noodles, and abundant seafood (scallops, yum!). All of the sets are excellent value and great for sharing with groups. The Loving Lychee is a sweet and delicious mocktail to try if you’re a big fan of lychee as well 🍸. We started the day trying different dishes from their food court - korean fried chicken from Tiger Chicken 🍗, borek and a HSP from Heavenly Kebabs 🍟 and fresh juice from Fresco Juice Bar 🧃. I was literally shook when the dishes came out cause they literally came out in platters - with enough food for at least 3 people 😯! We got the brunch platter which literally came with every breakfast classic you can think of - eggs, bacon, tater tots, halloumi, chorizo, sweet potato fries and so much more. 「One Pot 🥘」 Shrimp-ly the best 🦐 As the cold winter weather sets in 🥶, there's nothing quite like a steaming hot pot to warm you up from the inside out. One Pot in Haymarket offers the perfect dining experience to combat the winter chill, and I love that it’s individual mini pots per person 🥘! The hot pots were filled to the brim with protein and an abundance of seafood, which made them incredibly satisfying. Among the various options available, the tom yum hot pot 🦐 stood out for me. The tom yum broth was rich and flavorful, and the seafood complemented the tangy and aromatic broth well. The beef brisket was decent too, but I definitely preferred the Tom yum (especially after adding glass noodles, my favourite 😍). The sides offered here were great too, especially the fried chicken which was incredibly juicy and tender 🍗. It exceeded my expectations, as I didn't anticipate such high-quality fried chicken from a Chinese restaurant. 「Doodee Noodle 🍜」 It’s doo dee(licious) here 😋 I recently tried Doodee Noodle in Darling Quarter—a mini gem that satisfied my cravings for authentic Thai cuisine. Instagram flagged my caption as being too long 😂, so I’ll stick with talking about the highlights this post. I really enjoyed their moo ping beef skewers 🍢, which were tender, juice and accompanied by an incredible spicy sauce that had my taste buds dancing with joy. The food here is really solid, with everything that we ordered cooked well with fresh ingredients. One standout was the Korean chicken bites, which were incredibly tender and the sweet gochujang sauce was just amazing 👌🏻. The food is absolutely amazing, and the flavouring is on point. Plus, it's so reasonably priced considering it's located in the heart of the city. I absolutely demolished the Cheeky Mikey, which featured super tender beef cheek and a side of potato mash, and the whole dish just worked perfectly together. The wagyu burger was pretty solid, but let's talk about the desserts - the butterscotch pancakes were a standout 🥞🌟. The cream was just perfect, and they give you a generous serving of fruit to eat with it. Be careful with the tiramisu french toast though as the sauce is actually Bailey’s… We didn’t realise and it got a bit too boozy for a Sunday morning 😳. Well Vecino offers the perfect solution, as they’ve literally combined my favourite aspects of both worlds in this lit restaurant in Glebe! I literally can’t say no to tacos and Korean Fried Chicken, especially when they’re so flavourful and have the best textures 👌🏻. If you had to just order one thing from this restaurant, then the Honey Cream Prawn Tacos are a must-try 🍯🍤! It was sweet and perfectly complemented with the avocado, offering the most satisfying crunch I’ve had in a taco in a while. I was expecting to love the Baja tacos more as I’m usually a massive fan of fish, but somehow the prawn tacos stole my heart. We also tried their classic Korean fried chicken, and I really enjoyed the sweet spicy flavouring and crunch of the bite 🍗. The salsa picante fried chicken and pork tacos were too spicy for me to comment on, but it smelt really good so give it a try if you’re a spice lover! 「Silver Territory 🫖」 You’re sui mai type forever 💗 Lunar New Year’s over now, but I don’t need any excuse to enjoy a good yumcha cause it’s one of my favourite comfort foods 😙. I tried a new spot in Burwood last week, and all the dishes we tried were very yummy 😋! Of course, we had to get the classics - Siu Mai, Har Gow, Rice Noodle Rolls, etc. - but we also ventured out and ordered the fried calamari based on the yumcha lady’s recommendation 🐙, and she was right! The calamari was perfectly cooked with a crispy and delicious batter, and we demolished it so fast 💨. The BBQ pork bun also had the softest bread, and the BBQ pork inside was very tender and sweet 👌🏻. As usual, we ended the meal with the mango pancake 🥭🥞, which is by far superior to any mango pudding (which was extra lumpy here unfortunately). 「Pinky Ji 🍛」 There’s a new, bold venue in town that proudly serves ‘unauthentic Indian’… and I’m obsessed 😍! From the moment I stepped in, I was blown away by how a space in Sydney CBD could be so full of bright colours and sparkly decor 🌈✨. The chef’s selection menu is super affordable at $65pp and showcases the different dishes they have to offer. I was so full by the end of this, but make sure you save stomach space for my favourites - the balls of happiness, kingfish ceviche and the cauliflower! The menu also includes a personal thali, which serves up 3 curries, naan bread and rice. All of us were obsessed with the butter chicken curry, definitely a highlight of the meal 💗! 「Peanut Butter Bar 🥜」 Anyone that knows me knows I’m obsessed with gainz 😂, so when I heard about Peanut Butter Bar’s new Health Nut menu I knew ai had to try 💪🏻! The menu comes with a breakdown of protein, fat and carb amounts for every dish, and is perfect for anyone who likes to track their macros and calories. I’m a big fan of peanut butter too, so it’s great that almost every dish we ordered had a side of peanut butter 🥜 (savoury dishes had a sauce that was more similar to satay 👀). The salmon and beef brisket health bowls were good after an intense gym session, and we definitely preferred them over the chicken avocado food wrap. The peanut butter shake was hands down one of the best protein shakes I’ve ever had, especially the chocolate flavour 🤤. The desserts from the Health Nut menu are also packed with protein, so the texture was understandably a bit drier in the choc chip cookie and cheesecake. But the choc chip cookie skillet was great with the addition of vanilla ice-cream and peanut butter on top, and it was my favourite dessert from the menu 💗! 「Motto Motto 🍱」 Japanese food with a cheap price tag always hits different 🏷️ I tried out the new Motto Motto store in the Marrickville Metro, and I’m happy to say that they still deliver their staple dons, ramens and sides to the same quality as their other branches 🍚🍜🍟! Their dons are so affordable at only $19.9 (and even includes miso soup), and I highly recommend the wagyu beef and pork belly dons as must-try dishes as both meats were tender and flavourful 🍖. I also enjoyed the yuzu chicken bao the most out of all the baos, as the yuzu taste was strong, refreshing and balanced 👌🏻. 「The Mayflower ☕️」 Let’s hope that my 2023 is filled with more delicious and instagram-able brunches 🤞🏻 Having brunch here is just magical ✨ - I could spend all day staring at their iconic immersive 3D artwork and blue butterfly installations. With a venue as instagram-able as this, I just couldn’t resist a visit and excuse to pose with these beautiful butterflies 🦋. Their menu offers a wide variety of brunch and lunch dishes, and we were really impressed by the massive spread we had here. I need to start by saying that the coffee here is absolutely amazing 🤩 - probably one of the best I’ve had in the lower North Shore area! The entrees we ordered included the kingfish ceviche and burrata, and they were so fresh, high-quality and definitely a highlight of the meal 👌🏻. Out of the mains, I would recommend the scotch fillet over the prawn egg noodles since the later was a bit bland. It was so fun breaking the chocolate mousse in half as well 🥄, and it was a good way to end the meal (especially if you prefer somethjing not too sweet). Overall, I definitely recommend trying here at least once for the exceptional vibes, decor and service 😊, though note that it is definitely on the pricey side especially given that the portions are quite small. As soon as you walk in, you’ll be taken aback by the authentic decor, which really transports you to Lebanon. I highly recommend trying the Hannibal Feast banquet option, which offers such large servings of delicious carbs, proteins and salads for you to devour at a value price of just $60pp 👌🏻! They’ve released two drinks and one dessert special in time for Christmas this year, but it was the signature tom yum prawn pasta that was my favourite 😍. It’s rich, flavourful and as the name suggests, tastes exactly like the Thai dish… And the prawns were cooked perfectly as well 👌🏻. The soft shell crab portion of the Heaven Crab was cooked super amazingly and the croffle had good texture too, though I wasn’t the biggest fan of how the flavours came together for both the dishes. 「Antique Cherry Cafe 🍳」 Loving this a whole brunch 💕 I found a new cafe in Burwood with cute decor and aesthetic dishes! I really recommend the Creamy Chilli Salmon Pasta 🍝, which has an extra chilli kick to balance out the usual creaminess of salmon pasta. The hotcakes were also very soft and beautifully decorated with granola 🥞, though I did find it slightly bland. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the soft shell crab burger so I’ll probably try one of their other burgers next time 🍔. I loved the iced coffee though, which was beautifully decorated with the whipped cream (and even featured a dainty spoon 🥄). The cafe also offers bingsu in a takeaway container, which I don’t think any other restaurant in Sydney does 🤩!
