Interior of a remote traditional farmhouse in Japan - https://minsyuku-nakanoya.com/ - Spent a night around New Year in a guesthouse with the interior of a gassho zukuri (traditional farmhouse of the Chubu region in Japan) This one was in a remote mountain village of the Toyama prefecture. This room was the theater of one the best experiences I had in Japan, with our hosts being the sweetest people ! The wild boar shabu-shabu was delicious, as well as the many side dishes, not to mention the grilled fish (on the left of the painting). I painted this retrospectively from a photo at home, and went back to the guesthouse for golden week and gave it to the hosts. Ai piedi del monte sacro Hakusan, Shirakawa-go (白川郷) è uno dei villaggi tradizionali più belli del Giappone rurale, dichiarato Patrimonio Unesco nel 1995. Le sue tradizionali case con i tetti di paglia sono chiamate "gassho-zukuri", che significa "mani a preghiera". Ogni casa è un capolavoro di carpenteria, sono costruite senza chiodi ed ogni trave si incastra con la successiva, ed i tetti di paglia fortemente spioventi ricordano proprio due mani unite in preghiera. Nonostante il clima rigido, noi a fine marzo abbiamo trovato ancora un po' di neve, grazie alla forma dei tetti di paglia e alla solida struttura in legno, queste case resistono alle forti nevicate e sopravvivono dal 1800, nonostante il Giappone sia soggetto ai terremoti. È un posto fiabesco immerso in una splendida natura, passeggiando tra le case, si ha l'impressione di fare un viaggio nel tempo. April 21-23 One of the things we enjoyed in Shirakawa-go was a hot spring near the accommodation. If you stayed in a gassho-zukuri house (traditional house), you could get a small discount. At the suggestion of my husband, who had been looking forward to visiting the hot springs for some time, we visited the hot spring twice during our three-day, two-night stay in Shirakawa-go. Beautiful #shirakawago (#白川郷 Shirakawagō) and neighboring #gokayama (五箇山) regions lining the #shogawa River Valley in the remote mountains that span from Gifu to Toyama Prefectures. Declared a #unescoworldheritage site since 1995, they are famous for their traditional #gasshozukuri #合掌村 farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old. Gassho-zukuri means “constructed like hands in prayer”, as the farmhouses’ steep thatched roofs resemble the hands of Buddhist monks pressed together in prayer. The architectural style developed over many generations and is designed to withstand the large amounts of heavy snow that falls in the region during winter. The roofs, made without nails, provided a large attic space used for cultivating silkworms.

🛖SHIRAKAWA GO🛖 Shirakawa go è un tradizionale villaggio giapponese registrato come patrimonio UNESCO nella prefettura di Gifu, nel centro del Giappone🇯🇵 Questo villaggio è molto conosciuto per le sue case Gassho Zukuri, caratterizzate da tetti di paglia ripidi, e che nell’antichità fiorì nell’industria della sericoltura (allevamento di bachi da seta) È una destinazione turistica molto popolare perché conserva ancora lo scenario originale del paese, e soprattutto è bello in autunno con il foliage e in inverno con la neve🍁❄️ Inoltre, la sera d’inverno, quando l’intero villaggio è illuminato con le luci, potete ammirare uno scenario originale giapponese davvero magico ❄️ È raggiungibile in un’ora di autobus dalla vicina cittadina di Takayama e circa un’ora e mezza da Kanazawa.
