@boundarybrewing - Don't Smile pale, 4.7% Don't smile? Too late. This pale made me grin from ear-to-ear. One of my favourite sub 5% beers in a while. Belfast's Boundary Brewing seem to be in their lane with hoppy, middling ABV beers like this and I'm here for them. This one was loaded up with Nelson and Mosaic and was soft, juicy, full flavoured and more punchy than you'd expect for the strength and style. Don't Smile's vinous and berry notes complemented each other really well and there was also some peach and a slightly herbal character before a touch of fuzzy dryness on the finish. Very nice. @whiplashbeer - Disco Mystic DIPA, 8% Dublin's crafty beer wizards Whiplash are ace. I always enjoy their stuff, but the downside is I don't see their cans around that often. So it was great they packed a big old double IPA into the @brewserbeer St Patrick's Day box a little while back. Disco Mystic did not disappoint. A Strata and Citra treat that hit the spot. It was juicy and citrusy with a plump body. The main note was mango plus an array of citrus and a hint of melon with subtle bitterness. @heaneybrewery - New England IPA, 5.7% This was my first from farmhouse-based brewery, Heaney thanks to a #gifted box from @beerbuffs who specialise in Irish craft beer. It was quite malty for a NEIPA and the texture was a bit 'muddy' but it was very enjoyable otherwise. Good body and some nice sweet fruity notes. The first thing that you notice is the bold yellow soup like colour of the beer that fills the glass… followed up with citrus zest aromas. Once you take the first sip you know you’ve got an easy drinking DIPA with a New England finish. Dry and effortless! @mccrackensbrewery - Irish Pale Ale, 5% This is what you might call a no nonsense IPA. It was crisp and clean and had some sweetness upfront. But then that was met by an earthiness and a firm lingering bitterness. It helped that the hop duo here was one of my favourites - Citra and Galaxy - and that led to zingy citrus notes. It was almost like sucking on a grapefruit at times - in a good way. Bold and robust yet refreshing. @boundarybrewing - So Many Plans In Store IPA, 6.5% I've always enjoyed Boundary's beers and it's great that @brewserbeer have made them more accessible in the UK. This one was from the Brewser St Patrick's box and, true to form, very nice it was too. Hopped with Galaxy, Citra Spectrum and Mosaic, it poured with a gorgeous glowing yellow hue and the aroma was soft, sweet and fruity. The taste was led by a zesty, zingy array of citrus fruits. There was also pineapple, peach and a note like Fruit Pastilles! @ourbrewery - Any Major Dude session IPA, 3.8% This is my first from Our Brewery which I believe is a side project by the @geterbrewed team. Get 'Er Brewed supply UK and Irish brewers with malt, hops, yeast, water treatments and other brewing aids - so they certainly know a thing or two about beer! It's sometimes hard to get excited about a sub 4% beer but I appreciated this more and more as I went along. No bells and whistles, no hype, just a solid sessionable beer. The hops here were Styrian Goldings, Amarillo and Cascade and it was crisp and old school leaning - with emphasis leaning towards the malt character. Rich and biscuity. One of my favourites Pub in town, @bonobo_smithfield have a great selection of craft beers in bottles and cans, international and locals on Draft as well, their pizza is something out of this world! Chose this Belgian Dubbel from @hopebeerdublin a craft brewery from Ireland, 7,5% ABV and 24 IBU. The Limited Edition 32 is perfect according to its style, rich, complex, with a dark amber colour, thanks to dark caramel malts, aromas carries notes of dried fruits like raisins, figs and dates! The flavour is very sweet coming from the caramel malts but very balanced to its bitterness, and a surprising hint of spice! 🇮🇪 Fresh from Portadown 🇮🇪 Thanks very much to @beerbuffs for sending over this #gifted box of Irish craft beer. What do the cool kids call it? A care package? 😏 Anyway, Jordyn from Beer Buffs reached out and kindly offered to send a few cans to show what this new company is doing and to gain some exposure in this overcrowded little scene of ours. Basically, Beer Buffs want to shine the spotlight on the modern, independent Irish beer scene on both sides of the island's border. Leaving aside big beer and a certain stout beginning with G, I think it's fair to say UK mainland drinkers don't always see that much small batch Irish beer over here. And yet there's definitely a growing craft beer scene in Ireland at the moment. Just looking at Beer Buffs' website, at quick glance, the company is working with at least 25 NI and Republic microbreweries - helping to bridge the craft beer gap between the two islands. Which is a cool thing to do considering Ireland is said to have one of the most restrictive beer markets in Europe due to current licensing rules. Jordyn said: "The UK produces amazing brews but we would love the UK market to have a taste of what the Irish have to offer. As we all know we need to support our breweries now more than ever." Brown Bear Double IPA na Perci Borkowskiego w drodze na Luboń Wielki. Druga fotka z niedawnego wypadu na Luboń Wielki w Beskidzie Wyspowym. Tym razem modelką jest podwójna IPA, przywieziona przez mojego brata z Irlandii. Była to bardzo fajna, goryczkowa, treściwa, podwójna IPA w starym stylu. Takie lubię najbardziej. Perć Borkowskiego prowadzi przez widoczne na zdjęciu gołoborze. Bardzo fajne i klimatyczne miejsce.
