Alexander Lowen Il guscio delle uova ha come ruolo primario quello di proteggere il piccolo nelle varie fasi dello sviluppo, impedendo a qualsiasi cosa di entrare ma, permettendogli di uscirne facilmente quando arriverà il momento. Nei molluschi la conchiglia protegge esternamente e sostiene il corpo molle e senza scheletro dell’animale ma, evolutivamente parlando, egli tende a liberarsene. Prendendo ispirazione dalla natura, l’Opera intende riflettere sulle dinamiche interiori, profondamente legate alla paura, che impediscono agli esseri umani di evolversi. In questa sfera il termine “guscio” allude a una vita abitudinaria dai confini piuttosto ristretti (rimanere nel proprio guscio) anche se nelle prime fasi della vita esso, inteso come struttura necessaria di protezione come la famiglia e la scuola, è stato necessario allo sviluppo della crescita fisica e psichica. Tuttavia anche l’essere umano, proprio come alcuni animali, ha bisogno di abbandonare quel vecchio guscio per stare bene con se stesso e gli altri, evitando che diventi una corazza di difesa alla paura di essere feriti e di confrontarsi con l’ignoto e l’imprevedibile. Ciascuno di noi ha i propri meccanismi di difesa per proteggersi dal dolore ma quando prendono il controllo delle nostre vite finiscono per trasformarsi in una trasparente ma spessa pellicola attraverso la quale osservare il mondo.
