Cheeseburger Steamed Pods- Bao Buns: Satu’li Canteen is located in the Pandora section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The canteen is themed to resemble a Resources Development Administration (the bad guys) mess hall, now a peaceful dining facility adorned with Na’vi art and cultural items after the events of the original film. What lured me to this restaurant (besides enjoying the movies) was the unique menu offerings, specifically the Bao Buns. I’ve never had a Bao Bun, and this seemed like a safe and ideal time to try them as this variety is meant to mimic a cheeseburger. An order includes two pods stuffed with plenty of ground beef along with ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar cheese. There was just enough condiments and cheese to add to the flavor, but not easily visible to the eye and I personally could have used more cheese. The white dough was soft and sweet. This isn’t meant as a negative, but if I ate this blindfolded, other than the Bao Bun texture, the flavor reminded me a lot of the countless McDonald’s cheeseburgers I consumed as a kid. The vegetable chips were colorful and included a dusting of BBQ seasoning for flavor. As far as I could tell they seemed fresh and had a nice crunch to them. I’m not really into coleslaw, but I tried the vegetable slaw and that was also pretty good. The star of the slaw was the small number of berries, which had an intensely sweet and candy-like flavor. You can get them as a kids meal (1 bun, chips, and a drink) or a regular meal (2 buns & chips). I grab a kids’ meal so I can snack all around Animal Kingdom or the adult if I have a friend to share! (There is probably a lot of blue food coloring in the blue coating). The yolk looking part on the top has a weird jelly-almost-gummy-like texture. Honestly, the food alone proves that DAK is more than just a half-day park because you need time to eat all the food. ✨Grilled Corn on the Cob. IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD THIS CORN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Sorry, I don’t mean to yell but this corn is next-level good, and I know that typical corn isn’t a traditional theme park snack, but it should be. The curry powder is optional, but I suggest getting it - it completes the whole thing. The powder is a take on the Ethiopian berbere spice blend and packs a lot of flavors. 📍Harambe Fruit Market. 💵 $5.29 ✨Cheeseburger Steamed Pods. These pillowy bao buns have a Big Mac-like type filling and are just a fluffy version of a cheeseburger. If you are curious to try you can get one pod with no sides for about 5 bucks! 📍Satu’li Canteen. 💵 $11.49 ✨Rum Blossom. This drink is beautiful and refreshing, I think the passion fruit boba on the top really gives it Pandora feels. It is a layered slushie with a combination of desert pear and apple, the only sad thing is you have to stir it to mix the rum in. And yes, there is also a non-alcoholic version, the Night Blossom. 📍Pongu Pongu. 💵 Rum Blossom $13.00 Night Blossom $5.99 ✨Mr. Kamal’s Fries. I honestly don’t know what is better, the spice on these fries or the dipping sauces. They have a great amount of flavor without being spicy, so don't be afraid of them. 📍Mr. Kamal’s. 💵 $5.99 ✨Pulled-Pork Mac and Cheese. Mac and cheese, topped with pulled pork, topped with melted cheese, topped with bbq sauce and finished off with two onions right. Enough said. Five snacks I ALWAYS order in Disney World. 🙌 Okay, we are back talking about snacks, this time let’s talk about the snacks or meals I must get every time I am in Disney World. 🌌 Ronto Wrap - This is more than just a glorified hotdog, it is a true culinary masterpiece. It doesn't even matter what one you get, the OG, the breakfast, or if you are in Disneyland, the Ronto-less. This Batuu staple used Portuguese sausage and truly tastes like nothing else in the park. Also, this is me once again putting it into the universe that Disney World needs the Ronto-less Wrap. You can pick this one up at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy's Edge. 🧀 Ricotta - Of the current dining options, Topolino's Terrace is at the top of my list. Their house-made ricotta is what dreams are made of. I have nothing else to say except for, if you've never been to Topolino's, add it to your list. 🍔 Cheeseburger Spring Rolls - Nuzzled right on the way to Adventureland is the best cart in Magic Kingdom, the spring roll cart. Of course, the OG cheeseburger is always an excellent choice, I also enjoy the pizza, but fingers crossed we can get rotating flavors back. The bacon mac and cheese, and buffalo chicken were some previous standouts. 🍔 Cheeseburger Steamed Pods - Yes, another cheeseburger item, but it's worthy of making the list. Satu'li Canteen has so many amazing food items, their bowls are outstanding. But these buns are like a combo of a bao bun and a Big Mac and are so pillowy and delicious! 🥡 Pork and Vegetable Egg Rolls - Are these on the list of my top five snacks ever? No. But do I order them every time I am in Epcot? Yes. By the time I have made it to China, I always am ready for a snack, and I pick these up at Joy of Tea when I am ordering a drink. They make this list because they are good, I always order them, and at $3.99 they are a bargain. What snack do you ALWAYS order when you are at Disney World?

Trader Joe’s x Disney World 🥨 It's the crossover we didn’t even know we needed, but I found 3 @traderjoes snacks that are perfect for when you are missing Disney. ⠀ ⠀ 🍔 Philly Cheesesteak Bao Buns : (Cheeseburger Steamed Pods, Satul’i Canteen) Yes, these are slightly different from the park, but the idea and the same, and they are perfect if you can’t make it to Pandora. Plus, you can make them in the microwave. ⠀ ⠀ 🧀 Brazilian Cheese Bread : (Brazil Booth at Food and Wine, and hidden menu item at Skipper Canteen) As a bonus these are even gluten-free. They are smaller than the ones in the parks but still delicious. ⠀ ⠀ 🥨 Soft Pretzel : Okay, this one is like a cross between the Mickey Pretzel and the massive pretzel from the Germany Pavilion and it’s delicious. Also, if you are desperate for some plastic cheese they do sell it at Dollar Tree in those little plastic cups we all love!

We just wanted to try this out of curiosity, so we ordered from the kids menu (when you have a list of things to try, you gotta make it possible somehow, and the kids menu is exactly one way you can try something that is also found on the regular menu). We tossed the grapes to the side for the nephew to snack on, and left the chips to the sis because in all honesty we just wanted the bun. This bun was...different. Yes, as stated, it tastes like a cheeseburger but it also tastes strongly like pickles...but shockingly it wasn’t a deal breaker. At the end, I personally was contemplating getting another but decided otherwise since there was still more to try. We had to missed our whole fastpass😵😵 It took even longer because they said they were slicing fresh beef, but the beef we got on our plate was nothing like fresh hot slices😡, they were cold... Barely enough sauce for the bowl, the rice was dry/hard, and not super appealing presentation either.
