This season was a personal best for halibut since moving to Northern California. I’ve been fine-tuning my strategy, and it paid off big-time. Time in the water may have played a role as well, though. 2020 was a great year to social-distance from a kayak. You’ll notice I’ve got a life vest, face covering, and a radio for our longer kayak fishing trips. Safety comes first!

Kayaking in Capitola last week 💞🥰Wishing I had been slightly less exuberant and active on my trip home right now, as I seem to have really sprained my lower back. Took the kids outs on the skiffs at Capitola for the first time! Looking for baitFish so we can go for rockfish. Had a blast for the first 1 hr catching bait, but didn’t find the rockfish after that and didn’t help that the crew was getting seasick. Kid meltdowns after 2 hrs. They rent by the hour or by the day. Recommend trying this with the kids on an by hour basis and the floating dock at capitola wharf makes it easy to load and unload kids. Also, prepare with the motion sickness patch if kids first time. #capitolawharf #capitolaboatandbait #fishing #kidfishing
