Took a drive to the Ouse Valley Viaduct yesterday which is just a few miles from home. Construction was completed in 1842 and it is said that 11 million bricks were used to build the 492 yds long, 96 ft high and 37 arches. The bricks and other materials were carried from Holland to the site by barge on the river Ouse. The Viaduct was restored in 1996 and still carries over 100 trains each day. The second picture is a drone shot I took some years ago before, like pretty much everything that is enjoyable in this country rules and regulations took over. An enthusiast doesn't need an explanation about this English sports car we think. This Jensen has undergone a complete and intensive restoration spread over several years. The Interceptor originally comes from one of the sunny states of America and such a climate has the advantage that hardly any rust occured. The downside is that parts that are exposed to direct sunlight, such as the plastic and rubber parts, suffer UV damage. It took us some time before we found, for example, a left-hand drive, original dashboard without cracks, because the European copies also turned out to be sensitive to this. The body has been completely sanded to 'bare metal' to ensure that all body panels were rust-free. Only the front fenders had dents that we removed with hammers and patience. And there was hardly any rust. The only holes we had to weld were the places where the sidelights once were. All Lucas components as well as the wiring loom are carefully checked and repaired with the exception of the time clock, which is known as a notorious service refuser. We even found back the flexible engine compartment light on the radiator cowl on marketplace. We didn't liked the american market steering wheel and we replaced it for remake of a period-correct one. As you can see this Jensen has the rims of a MKIII. The previous owner allready overhauled the engine, gearbox and axles so we only checked them and did some necessary adjustments. We are looking for a true enthusiast for this Interceptor who wants perfection combined with usability and reliability. Someone who has already looked at several Jensen's knows enough when he/she sees quality. Whether you are a rider, collector or investor. The asking price is what can be expected for a completely and carefully restored Jensen, but certainly not more and amounts to €74,000 Think about it carefully before coming to view the car.
