I actually saw the movie twice on opening weekend in theater, one being the midnight showing, the 1st time I stayed up passed midnight. This was a blockbuster, waiting hours in line to see it. . . I heard last week #stayoutofthebasement by #rlstine is going to adapted into the next #gossebumps movie. It makes sense as this is book 2, as book 1 was the pervious movie. I just hope they keep this up to adapt at least monster blood, and maybe even slappy. . . I do wish tim jacobus did paint the cover art for the book originally, but that is early on, publishers and authors do like to try out 2 or 3 different artists before they figure out the right one sometimes. This and one others were the only 2 in the original 62 book series he didn't paint, but he did do the cover when the series went into reprint 20 years ago. I don't know if its good or not he updated the cover art to look more contemporary. . . .
