today’s post is brought to you by the letter “a” - which (unfortunately) again, stands for allergy 😔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ when introducing solids to bb lake, we were quite nervous, especially with eggs, since we found out that lany was allergic to eggs around the same age (~8 mos). well, turns out lake is allergic, too ❤️🩹 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ thankfully, her reactions weren’t as severe, but we did end up in the hospital, because she developed skin blotches that definitely raised concern. the nurse and doctor on site didn’t think it was an allergic reaction, due to the fact that other symptoms weren’t present (nausea/vomiting, fever, hives), aside from her skin patches, but they advised to wait for confirmation from an allergist. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ we were lucky enough to get an allergist appointment soon after lake’s hospital visit, where it was confirmed that she is in fact allergic to eggs. she didn’t react the same way lany did from the test (instant raised hive), but the allergist said that an allergy is definitely present. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ the only silver lining to this news is that we already know how to navigate an egg allergy in this household (we rarely have any products that contain eggs, even though we love them 😩), and that there are many vegan/egg-free options out there! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ anyway, the girls’ next appointment is in november, where we’ll see whether or not their egg allergies have improved 🤞🏼 #alongcamemama ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ — ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #momlife #torontomoms #momsofinstagram #motherhoodinsquares #momlifebelike #lifewithlittles
