“Forks at the Forks” It’s #lightning season! I don’t do a lot of #ThrowbackThursday s but when I do it’s electrifying!!! I took this almost 20 years ago in 2005 in #Winnipeg ! It was my first “viral” shot before the term “viral” had been popularized. It was everywhere! Right after I got home early in the morning (3am or so) I posted it on a local automotive forum (WPG Heights) as well as my own photo club (Winnipeg Photo). Because of that, it spread fairly broadly. I was told that TONS of people from multiple local companies like MB Hydro were using it as a desktop for months. I had to contact several companies to get them to stop using it without permission on their web sites and advertising material. This was a time before either Instagram or Twitter even existed. When DSLRs were just coming out and being offered at a reasonable enough price us mere mortals could afford. Very few people were shooting lightning and even fewer were putting their photos online. Aurora photos didn’t exist as they are so prolific today.
