The X-Mal Deutschland early reissues! I waited for them with anticipation, particularly the fabled Grossstadtindianer [Big City Native Americans]. I finally had a chance to savor the arrivals of the single and the compilation LP. — Well, the early work was clearly early work, pretty rough. Interesting as a historical document, but unfortunately, not much more. The LP also contains a lyrics sheet, which may be helpful to non-native German speakers; native speakers won’t have any problems just listening. I was wondering whether the recordings were decent, similar to the OG releases. The re-release also contains the 1982 version of Incubus Succubus on the ZickZack label, of which I have two copies. It is the red and black covers on the picture. [Not Incubus Succubus II on 4AD, which is a domesticated version of the 1982 aural whipping. The slate grey cover on the picture.] After several swaps back and forth, I can’t tell a difference. That song is worth having and has lost neither intensity nor excitement. ... just my X-cents. One would think that re-releases address a demand and silly high prices on the market. However, I noticed that those re-releases already go for a pretty penny on Discogs: $100 for the LP, $60 for the single (!!!). That is a problem with a 500/200 copies limited issues. Maybe Sacred Bones Records is planning on a second pressing? For Anja Huwe's solo album “Codes”, I contributed the instrumental track for the song "Zwischenwelt". I also played guitars and sometimes bass on tracks including ‘Skuggornas’. Anja Huwe Codes. This is the first solo album by Anja, legendary XMal Deutschland singer. Manuela Rickerts from the band plays guitar. Musically this is slightly modernised version of what XMal played in the eighties. Anja's voice is still fresh and mighty. Very good album.
