Got home from work today to discover that @aleccecil had put up some picture shelves in our hallway, so that we can make use of all the lovely lovely wall space *and* put some of our huge Trek prints on display! The Lower Decks ones will likely be hung elsewhere eventually, but for now they fill some wall space and I love them too much not to have them up where I can see them every day. The addition of these shallow shelves also gives us a better idea of how much space we have left to play with around the art we already have up - which I thought I’d show off as well! John Carpenter’s The Thing. The ultimate in alien terror. The most iconic film of all time and by far one of my favorites. The Queen’s Gambit ♟️ •••• I wanted to create an alternative movie poster for The Queens Gambit for a while, but I had a hard time finding an idea that would create an amazing story but also look dope. I came up with this concept of a younger Beth playing an older Beth, where the character development is shown as well with emotions, posture etc.. I aimed for the younger version of Beth to be nervous, erratic and a bit uneasy as seen on the left, while the older (grandmaster?) Beth is very poised, and confident in her moves on the board I added some cool easter eggs on the table as well to compliment the show! Had a bunch of fun on this one, and will hopefully cook some more dope ideas this week.
