Richard Curtis was contacted by Steven Moffat to write an episode for the fifth series, and Curtis felt confident writing a historical story focused on Vincent van Gogh. Part of his motivation in writing the script was simply to try and offer Van Gogh a little overdue credit, stating... “I’m terrifically moved by the life and fate of Van Gogh. He’s probably the single great artist - in all formats - who received no praise whatsoever for his work. If you look back at Dickens, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci…all hugely famous in their lives. And then this one incredibly popular artist with no praise at all, literally selling the one painting. Today is my due date. Jemma came 2.5 weeks early via induction. My induction started Monday 3 weeks ago and she arrived Wednesday morning. She was 6 pounds 2 ounces and 19 inches long. 2 weeks ago, she had her first pediatrician appointment and was 6 pounds 11 ounces. She had her follow up today and is 7 pounds 13 ounces and 20 inches long. She has a yeast infection, which I thought based on her reaction when she pees. Patrick just got home from picking up a cream we have to apply 4 times a day daily for 2 weeks. She also has a slight diaper rash, I believe from the disposables we've had to use because of how small she is. We just got some newborn cloth in so we're going to try them to see if it helps. Rash cream in the mean time. Aside from that, the doctor said she's right on track and doing well. Patrick took her today; I sent a list of questions and he got everything answered. Basically, alleviating random concerns we had.
