We spent Saturday and Sunday afternoon enjoying @stroud_food_festival in the sun! Such a lovely weekend for it! We ate so much good food and went home absolutely stuffed, but there was still so much we could have tried! We managed the following: • Prawn tacos and Birria tacos from @gourmetwarriors • Cheese coins from @shmoles1 • Beers from @town_owl_taphouse • Ice-cream from @alfonso_gelateria in @five_valleys • Reuben sandwich from @peanuts_newyork_deli • Sangria from @galgoslatino It's hard to say what the stand out food were because they were all so good. The Birria tacos were far superior to the prawn, absolutely delicious! The cheese coin was so good Saturday I had to go back for another Sunday and this time added jalapeños. Casey had the Italian which came with tomato sauce and pepperoni. The Reuben was incredible and so well filled. The ice creams - white chocolate and raspberry and hazelnut. Both had so much flavour! The Town Owl had a delicious sour beer by @lefthandedgiantbrewing which I just couldn't get enough of! This sauce was also more of a chipotle thousand island. Big, big fan. Past the sauce, this reuben was pretty well done. Corned beef was above average, and the cheese was delicious. Sauerkraut was dialed in. Loved the marble rye, but it was slightly over toasted. Rate this reuben 7.6, would recommend. Top 10 overall!!

They cater to vegetarians, vegans & gluten free customers too which makes it super popular & the tables inside fill up quickly & when the sun shines there’s lovely tables outside to enjoy too. 📋 The menu has plenty to choose from & they open Tuesday - Saturday 9am - 4pm & Sundays 10am - 4pm. They source only the best local ingredients & everything is extremely fresh - the bakery counter with the classic sausage rolls, scones, cobs, cakes & pastries is always a temptation that’s hard to resist. It was 3:30 on Saturday when we popped by, so we just managed to get in before their last orders which was a result! 🥪 On this occasion we opted for two Crimson Reuben Sandwiches to go - filled with Beef pastrami, Monterey Jack cheese, sauerkraut & thousand island dressing. The sandwiches travelled exceptionally well, still being warm & cheese still melting as we dug in. It’s served alongside some pesto pasta salad & carrots which was a lovely touch too. The pastrami was a beautiful smoky & salty combination which worked a dream with the tang from the sauerkraut & then balanced out by the butteriness of the melted cheese & the sweetness of the sauce. The bread was super fresh even for that time of the day & a decent wedge so it didn’t fall apart when biting into it which is what you want from a sandwich. 🧾Look I realise it’s only a sandwich but it’s a damn good one & deserved a post on the grid. Also we’ve had breakfast here before & they do it very well. There’s a free car park around the corner which makes this an ideal place to stop by. All in all, it’s a perfect spot to catch up with friends or even to sit solo in the window bar stool seats & watch the world go by or crack on with some work over a coffee with your laptop. Something for everyone & from memory they’re dog friendly too - I mean what more could you want?
