🌞 Good evening, everyone! I want to share with you how my day went. 🌸 Today was a wonderful day filled with beautiful moments and positive experiences. The morning started with rays of sunshine streaming through my curtains, instantly uplifting my spirits. After getting out of bed, I felt a surge of energy and excitement for the day ahead. I began my day by treating myself to a refreshing shower and a delicious breakfast accompanied by a steaming cup of aromatic coffee. The first half of the day was dedicated to work. I tackled my projects, responded to emails, and engaged in productive online meetings with my colleagues. It was invigorating to discuss new ideas, plans, and share insights. Together, we worked on tasks, overcoming challenges, and making progress towards our shared goals. During lunchtime, I decided to take advantage of the lovely weather and spend some time outdoors. I enjoyed a peaceful stroll in a nearby park, surrounded by the vibrant colors of nature. The gentle breeze and the soothing melodies of birdsongs provided a much-needed break and rejuvenated my mind and body. After lunch, I indulged in one of my favorite pastimes—reading. I visited the local library, immersing myself in captivating stories and expanding my horizons. The library has always been a haven of inspiration for me, and I spent a couple of hours engrossed in the pages of intriguing books. As the evening approached, I dedicated some time to my hobby—playing the guitar. Music has a way of soothing my soul and allowing me to express my emotions. I strummed familiar tunes and created my own compositions, losing myself in the meditative and creative process. Despite the weather, we still managed to celebrate our platinum OPAL award, presented to us by the Mayor, in front of representatives from the companies who helped us: Durkan and ARISE Hatfield. We also had a representative from Welwyn Hatfield Council, who also helped the school with this achievement. Amongst the dignitaries were Neil from OPAL, the SPH governors and of course, Mrs Hulley and Mrs Hale, who were the driving force behind the entire project. Because I have been personally working through some health struggles and tend to have a very busy brain! So, getting out in nature regularly helps to take me out of my office space, gets me out of my head, gets my blood flowing and fresh air into my lungs, before I get back into a day at my desk. This is me the other week taking a snap 🤳 on my morning walk. I regularly head out for about a half an hour walk around home and so enjoy what these walks do for me physically and mentally. I love it when the sun comes out and hits my face, and I always try to be present and notice all the sounds of nature as I walk. I noticed about six different varieties of birds this day! When I make the time to remove myself from my daily routine and move my body it is always time well spent! It really does help me to appreciate the beautiful things around me, which in turn resets my mind to a place of more calm, and less stress. 🏴Made it to the top of Mount Snowdon, or "Yr Wyddfa" as the Welsh call it, via the Llanberis Path. At 1,085 meters (3,560 feet) above sea level and a prominence of 1,039 meters, it's the highest peak in Wales – a shy one, though, hiding behind fog! 🏔️The ascent was challenging, with friendly sheep cheering me on along the way. There were a few unexpected surprises, like patches of snow adding a touch of winter magic to the scene and seagulls soaring above, reminding me that the sea isn't too far away. 🌫️ Mysterious Mists: When the skies are clear, Yr Wyddfa's summit is said to reveal glimpses of Ireland, England, and the Isle of Man. Alas, today Snowdon chose to conceal its treasures beneath a veil of fog, leaving me to imagine the wonders hidden within the mist. 💧 Llyn Vistas: Despite the fog, glimpses of Snowdon's picturesque llyns – Llyn Llydaw, Llyn Glaslyn, and Llyn Cwellyn – added a touch of serenity to the journey. The lake and surrounding meadows are included in the nature reserve “Liepājas Ezers” and is a “Natura 2000” protected area of European significance because of nesting and migratory birds that can be found there. Included in the list of protected bird species are 27 nesting bird species, 10 winter bird species and 50 bird species that feed here during migration. 🥾The Zirgu Nature Trail is a nice walking trail (4km) that starts at the northern part of the lake with several pathways at the start, including a wide, good-quality wooden boardwalk along the coast with few viewing platforms.
