Today started off great. Woke up early in spite of having gotten just a few hours of sleep. I started my day with warm water flavoured with fresh rosemary. I made the bed and ate an orange. I washed my pajamas and sat down to eat my breakfast of rice and kale. There was some slight cramping in my abdomen, but it faded after I went out for a brisk walk in the sun. I paid for a trip in November, made a few work calls, sent some texts, and enjoyed a matatu ride to Rongai (shocking, I know). Then I found myself locked out of the house; hugry, tired, and in desperate need of a bathroom break. This is usually where I buy potato chips to fill that anger that comes with change and helplessness. I decided to ignore my "craving" and buy roasted peanuts instead. I plugged in my earphones, listened to some music, and started walking. Fast. I boarded a matatu back to town to get the house key. I'm on a bench somewhere in the central business district typing furiously as I celebrate an almost pain free period day 3 thanks to some healthy routines including the walking-when-upset thing that got me to #8km just now. I'm an emotional eater; which surprises many people. The general public tends to forget that nutritionists, health coaches, and individuals with fit-looking frames also have food struggles. It's an every day journey, this thing called healthy habit building. Though I must say I'm far from where I used to be.... This is still a major struggle in my Life at the moment. This past year became the busiest time of my Life & while people always tell me "Busy is a Good Thing" this phrase isn't always true. With Spoken Word Performances, Church Duties, Obligations I agreed to, Music, Work, School etc... I immersed myself in such a busy schedule that I became completely overwhelmed & because of the decisions I've made, I'm now forced to play catch up with the rest of my life because of certain things I put on hold all for the sake of being "Busy". I neglected My personal Walk with Christ, my Marriage & even my Health without even realizing it. (Forgive me if I neglected you also) I always had a procrastination problem but my busy schedule only intensified that struggle instead of aiding it. Now I ask that you all keep me in prayer to re-prioritize my life, as I pray for myself in that I make better decisions & use my time in a more wise manor in 2014. I truly have to remember that I don't have to say "Yes" to everything, while also keeping in mind that sometimes when I get a "No" in something I want to be apart of or do, it's not Satan halting my plans... It's GOD telling me "Don't put more food on your plate when you have yet to swallow the first helping you received".
