On this Feast of Our Lady of the Way, I wanted to share some images of Mary that I took on my Ignatian pilgrimage in 2022. As I journeyed through Spain and Rome, my understanding of Mary’s influence in Ignatius’ life deepened greatly. This feast day is celebrated by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) to commemorate the devotion St. Ignatius had to Our Lady of the Way. It was at the Church of Our Lady of the Way, in Rome, where St. Ignatius spent much time praying before the fresco depicting Mary and the baby Jesus. Throughout his journeys and reflections, Ignatius continuously asked for Our Mother’s intercession. How might we turn to Mary as he did, asking for her prayers and closeness to Jesus? Mary as you prayed for Ignatius, pray for us!

Pentecost Sunday marked the end of Ignatian Ministries’ 153 Fish Spring Appeal. Every single donor has been a reminder that we are not alone in the work and mission of Ignatian Ministries. For that, we are so incredibly thankful. In total, we had 89 individuals join as recurring donors and an additional 49 one-time donors. The Holy Spirit is with us! We begin a new series this week, Christ Has No Voice But Yours. The beautiful prayer attributed to St. Teresa of Avila reminds us that Christ has no hands, feet, eyes or ears but ours. In today's world, Christ also has no voice but ours. This new series will focus on how God helps us to find and use our voices in the world as God sends us forth to others, each in our unique ways. Hi Soulmates, Day 111 of #Ultimatecalling365 talks into being in harmony with the mind of God. This statement takes me to Ignatian Spirituality where they speak of consolation and desolation. You are urged to contemplate these when reflecting on your day where consolation is anything or anyone or any experience that you feel draws you closer to God, or in this case, an alignment to God's mind. Desolation is the opposite - those things that drew you away. In my opinion these are directed by your ego mind - little titbits of self-doubt, huge reminders of past failures, and in my experience the closer your alignment with your Soul Purpose, the more often the awareness of the presence of these indicators of desolation. That is the higher energy spoken of here. You see those thoughts and indicators and you know how to respond to them, how to let them go and how to minimise the impact on your journey of Soul Serving. Children need to develop their drawing abilities as they grow, and similarly, we children of God need to mature in our rosary praying throughout our lives, so that we can encounter Jesus more profoundly in this devotion. And that’s what this book is all about.
