So I made this face scrub 25 days ago, to be exact. And I started to realize maybe this won't last too much longer... 🤔 Turns out... it can go bad 🙄 (more on that below). So since I have 3 jars left, I decided to use it for my feet too! aaaaand then I just rubbed it all over my body! 😏 Aside from the tub being a slippery disaster... I'd say I loved it! 👍 ✖️ Didn't need soap (why wash away the good stuff?) ✖️ Didn't need my pumice stone ✖️ Didn't need to slather the lotion on after My skin was SO soft after! So if you're just using it for your face and only using it 2-3 times a week, don't make too much! Because it will go bad before you can use it all. Here's some more info on that 👇 👉 Sugar acts as a natural preservative to some extent but can attract moisture, leading to potential microbial growth if not stored properly. 👉 Fresh rose petals can spoil quickly (1-2 weeks). Dried petals will last longer (1-2 months) but still have a limited shelf life when mixed with other ingredients. 👉 Coconut Oil has a relatively long shelf life due to its antimicrobial properties, but it can become rancid. 👉 Honey is naturally antimicrobial and has an indefinite shelf life on its own but can be contaminated if mixed with other ingredients. ☑️ Store the scrub in a clean, airtight container to minimize exposure to air and moisture. ☑️ Storing the scrub in the refrigerator can help prolong its freshness, especially if it contains fresh rose petals. ❌ If the scrub develops an off or rancid smell, it is best to discard it. ❌ Separation of ingredients or an unusual consistency, can indicate spoilage. ❌ Any signs of mold growth mean the scrub should be thrown away immediately. #naturalbodyscrub #naturalskincare #healthierchoices #healthyswaps #nochemicals #diyskincare #homemadebodyscrub #homemademom

I have an exciting announcement! As some of you may know, I have a passion for hand poured candles, and homemade skin care! I used to have a shop for all my homemade product @revivalbotanicalsapothecary I have finally decided to rebrand and reopen my shop after a couple years of tirelessly, working on new recipes and product labeling. Nothing screams self-love more than a DIY skincare product! This is one of my absolute favourite homemade body scrubs; I’ve been using it on and off for years and I swear by it! It comes together with simple ingredients straight out of your kitchen: 30ml raw milk 1 full tomato’s pulp 1 cup of masoor (pink) dal 1 cup of uncooked rice 1 lemon’s juice 1 tsp orange peel powder Blend the dal and rice in a blender to make it more fine, and then add the rest of the ingredients to this. Use it to exfoliate your skin naturally! So effective and so, so easy to use. Would love to hear your DIY treatments too!
