This week’s episode of Insecure was probably one of the MOST relatable of the entire series. It gave us a look at postpartum, the down side of co-parenting, long distance parenting, & what it’s like to parent with an individual that you aren’t fond of. The episode starts off with Lawrence finding out his baby was born via text while out on a date! 🥴🥴 At first, I was mad for Lawrence because of how insensitive this was! Why not a phone call? A text seemed so impersonal but the truth is Lawrence & Condola have no relationship AT ALL! Lawrence had been MIA for the entire pregnancy AND moved to another city. As the episode progresses it shows how vastly different Lawerence & Condola’s lives are. Lawerence has the luxury of going out on dates, sleeping through the night, flying in once a week and cancelling his visits when he’s “too busy” whereas Condola is doing EVERYTHING on her own! And when Lawrence come to town he always has demands or something negative to say! “N**** We Made It!!!” Lmfao!😩 A pregnancy, pandemic, and 7months of breastfeeding later, we weaned baby James, dropped him with MeeMee & Papa, and THIS mama took some LONG overdue me time. It’s true that you can get lost in the role of motherhood or any other role for that matter. Idk if it looks glamorous to y’all, but being a new mom has quite literally worn my ass OUT. Here’s what I’ve learned: 1. James doesn’t give a damn where I am as long as he has some titty milk (as depicted in the 3rd photo). 2. It’s easier to wean a baby off your tit when the tit is in a different state 🤷🏾♀️ 3. I gotta do this shit more often…’cause I deserve it. Period.
