The other day God spoke to me and said to dig deeper into being a Godly wife and mother. Today I started that study with reading Ruth. I know it doesn’t speak much on her wifely or motherly parts of her life but I knew there was still something I could learn from her. In Ruth chapter 2 verse 7 it says: “She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves after the reapers.’ So she came, and she has continued from early morning until now, except for a short rest.” This verse practically SCREAMED at me! She was up early in the morning picking up basically scraps and leftovers for just her & her mother in law. If she was working THAT hard for just her mother in law, shouldn’t our husbands and children deserve the same from us? If not more? As wives AND mothers we have so much on our plates and wear so many different hats, sometimes it’s overwhelming. Looking at Ruth, I want to work that hard for my family. They deserve the hardest working wife and mother I can be. After all, I’m only a wife and a mother because of God and I refuse to take these blessings for granted! Let’s be Ruth’s. Work hard. Take what you can get. You might only be able to get the leftovers right now, but God is sending your “Boaz.” Soon you’ll be able to get the pick of the crop, the main harvest. For those seeking to delve deeply into the richness of the psalms, this book would make a wonderful purchase for the new year (or now!), or a thoughtful gift for a loved one this Christmas. ♥️ @paulargooder has done such a wonderful job of facilitating slow, meditative, thoughtful study of the psalms. Amidst back to back jobs required to run the home and attending to children’s needs, amongst many other things, this book was a refreshing break to fully stop and ponder who God is and what it means to feel in the light of God’s goodness. 🙌 It covers 15 psalms, printing them in their entirety, giving space to underline and annotate, as well as separate pages for detailed notes. It then goes on to hone in on certain verses or themes, asking thoughtful questions and giving prompts to pray, write or even draw. As well as providing interesting facts to do with things like the context or origin of certain words. I found it to be a perfect mix of study, journal and commentary. ♥️ Whilst it only covers 15 psalms, I feel Paula has done a fantastic job at setting a habit for further study of other psalms or books in the Bible, using the methods she’s outlined. Thus she’s wonderfully equipped her readers to slow down and savour the beauty and complexity of scripture. ✨ It’s a book I have thoroughly enjoyed using, having facilitated very rich quiet time for me. We all face discouragement. Some of us more often than others. Some of us navigate through it fairly quickly and some us can often find ourselves debilitated by discouragement. I feel like the enemy sometimes strategizes trials in our lives. In my life it sure works like this. When I feel discouraged, it’s almost like he goes...oh she is down...let me attack her even more now that she is weak and vulnerable. You feel that way too? Anyways, the reality is...we ALL will be discouraged at different times for different reasons, we can’t run away from it. But what we CAN do is to equip ourselves with the word, in a practical, applicable way, so we are able to recognize the discouragement and respond to it...telling it to go right back where it came from and not allowing it to steal from our lives. God loves and He is for you..always. Whenever you feel discouraged, Speak Thankfulness and Speak the Word of God over your life! This has been my Bible study the past couple months thanks to my precious friend @gma_kathy_t who encouraged me to do it and provided the accompanying videos for it ☺️❤️ . . I LOVE Jen Wilkin studies. Love them! I feel like I’m able to dig so deep into a particular book of the Bible and have an entirely new perspective. And Hebrews was NOT easy. But Jen, in her laid-back, peaceful manner...just led us right through and brought understanding to difficult passages. I loved the reminder that Christ is the substance of the shadowy truths of the Old Testament. He alone is better. The better promise, the better sacrifice, the better covenant. Love another as you love yourself. I find it fascinating in our world that we teach that loving and caring for ourselves isn't good. I see that God wants us to care for ourselves, focus on growing in the word, shift our mindset first to His word and way, and then be His hands and feet. If we don't heal our own battle wounds, mindset issues, and learn to see our worth and value then how can we value others? We treat others from our place of spiritual maturity and healing or from a place of stagnant brokenness. Let's choose today to seek and find the healing tools we need to transform ourselves in the word and treat all those around us from a place of healthy love because we know our worth and value. *message me and let's begin that journey together. Let's pray: Dear Lord God Almighty, we humbly come before You with thanks and praise. We thank You so much for first loving us even when we were prideful, broken, and unwilling to see ourselves the way You see us. Lord please lead each of us to the healing scripture, the healing tools, the healing habits, and the self-care that will bring about lasting blessings for ourselves and all those around us. Lord we long to see ourselves as You see us and to be Your hands and feet in the way that You want us to be, not in the way the world keeps telling us. Thank You Jesus for leading us day by day, moment by moment. All praise and glory to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

After I graduated high school I stopped reading my Bible. 🙈 __ I grew up in Christian schools which meant memorizing Scripture, reading the Bible, and doing intensive studies on various biblical topics was a part of my daily schoolwork for 13 years. Once I graduated I found myself pushing my Bible aside because it had become like another textbook to me. __ It wasn’t until I joined a Faith + Fitness accountability group to loose some weight so I could fit in my wedding dress that I learned how important daily time in the Word truly is. I dusted off my Bible and began to TRULY read it, not just read it for a school assignment. __ At the beginning of last year I committed to a one year Bible reading plan. Yesterday I finally completed this plan. Yes it took my longer than a year, but that’s ok. I learned how to study Scripture and apply it to my life. I have felt more connected to my faith than ever before. __ So now, for the first time ever, I can say that I have read through the entire Bible! How cool is that?!

Prayer is powerful! Prayer is a beautiful part of loving God. drop 🙏 if you agree We may not understand the intricacies of the power of prayer. When do you feel the presence of God most? God is within us and walking with us. Each of us is a precious royal diadem in the hand of God (see Isaiah 62:3). How beautiful is it that God lives within us, loving us, and wanting the best for us. He never leaves us. He encourages us when we lean into Him. He is just waiting for you to speak with Him. May God grant you a moment today to talk with Him and feel His presence. May God help you choose the things that need to be done and the things that can be released for another day so that you move through the day with wisdom and peace. In Jesus name, Amen

Are you doing a new thing this 2020 with God? What do you want to see spring up in your life this year? Post or message me and let me pray over your dreams and goals. I don't want you to feel alone doing the new thing. I sometimes get easily overwhelmed trying to do something new and then I don't do it. My word for this year is focus. Good Saturday morning y'all. I'm reading the word and drinking my coffee in my hotel bed. We're away for Big Papa's office Christmas party. Today I was reading one of my favorite verses that I have written in my journal. Jeremiah 32:41 talks about God's deep love for us. God proclaims that He loves us with His whole heart and soul. ❤😲 God doesn't just love us a little bit. He loves us so immensely that He loves us with His whole being🥰 What does thinking on that change for you today? Ephesians 4:23 tells us "you must let your spirits and minds keep being renewed. " Let's renew daily our understanding of God's love and His word for our life Ephesians 4:31 tells us to get rid of all bitterness, rage, slander, spitefulness etc. Let's renew our efforts to speak with kind courage today. Let's renew our efforts to forgive and put those that have hurt us into Abba God's hands. Let's renew our patience, our smile, our prayers, and our mindsets in the way that creates positive transformation and glory to our God who loves us with His whole heart and soul. Remember you have the power to do all God has called you to do because the Holy Spirit dwells richly in you. Cultivate your faith muscles and ask for God to show you how to discern who should be in your life and who should not. Creating an encouraging and uplifting group of people to encourage and be encouraged by takes intention. To grow we must protect ourselves and the healing that Jesus is doing in our minds and heart. Christ sometimes would heal and then admonish the healed person not to return to their village. I encourage you to think on this and talk about it with God.
