Very sad to hear of the passing of Eric Kincaid. I'll be focussing on some of Eric's work over the next few days. Text from his public Facebook post: From Peter Hayton It is with the greatest sadness that I have to announce, on behalf of his wife Angie Kincaid, that Eric Kincaid passed away peacefully at home with her by his side, as he wanted, on Friday 18th August. Eric became famous for his wonderful children's book illustrations, some of the titles were Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book, and Peter Pan, to name just three, but there were many more famous titles illustrated in the 40+ years that he painted them. A lot of his work can be seen on his website http://www.erickincaid.com/ I'm sure you will join me in sending condolences to his loving wife Angie, daughter Fi and all his family. You will be so sadly missed Eric, by so many people that you touched with your wonderful art over the years. I am hugely excited to share with you this section of the paper chain. I have always loved images of children lined up by height, so I was thrilled when @victoriaropercurzon bravely excepted my challange of a photo of her 6 children in height order. She delivered the perfect photograph, from which I drew this adorable line up . I have followed Victoria on IG for years now, my sons used to wear her beautiful @elfielondon clothes, I miss those days of gingham & smocking before they discovered hoodies and trainers. Victoria’s photographs are an endless source of inspiration for me, I want to live in her world 🤎 . Just to say that little Robin on the end can stand up (a requirement of being in the paper chain) however he looked just too cute sat like this, so I bent my own rules! . I’m taking a break from inks and pens today and going crate digging for vinyl records. Apart from music records, I also collect children’s stories/songs on vinyl, which my son enjoys listening to on occasion. I found this and I’m in love with the illustration on the vinyl cover BUT the 2 vinyls in it are so scratched up it’s like someone used them as snowshoes and went to town walking on gravel.😩I successfully resisted the urge to justify buying it just for the cover. Good thing, we all have our handy-dandy smartphone to record things for posterity.
