Upper Crossed Syndrome ✅ This Post focuses on exercises for upper crossed syndrome. 🔎 This postural distortion pattern can result in muscular imbalances - that often lead to poor movement patterns - which may increase tension within the head, neck, etc. ➡️ Excessive Rounding of the Shoulders AND a Forward Head is a postural distortion that is often associated with upper crossed syndrome. 👴🏻👵🏽 This distortion can lead to the notorious way of how most older individuals walk and stand - which is characterized with extreme kyphosis (slouching) and is lead with a head that is past the shoulders (forward head). ‼️Common symptoms/discomforts associated with UpperCrossed syndrome include: Headaches, Biceps Tendonitis, rotator cuff Impingement, etc. ⚠️Daily habits that exacerbate this postural imbalance include: (1) Work - especially if sitting in front of a computer screen; (2) Driving a car - with your arms on the steering wheel & head forward; (3) Looking down to watch a Video on your electronic device. ♻️ Being mindful of these repetitive postural habits can help restore your body’s natural neuromusculoskeletal alignment Follow 👉@dr.back_pain for daily pain relief and mobility tips!📚 📢Find this helpful?

Week 2 day 1 complete! The workout plan I am currently doing is targeted to upper cross (check out my posts on upper cross syndrome to find out what upper cross is). This plan is 3 weeks long and very targeted to the muscles that are effected with upper cross. After this targeted workout I will move into better incorporate these exercises into my warmups and daily activities. I find that as a hyper mobile individual that without targeted workouts mixed into my routines I am very susceptible to muscle imbalances. Mobility and targeted workouts are very important to maintain joint strength and integrity. #workout #workoutlifebalance #upperbodyworkout #uppercrosssyndrome #uppercrossedsyndrome #mobilityexercises #rmt #massagetherapist #peterboroughontario

𝕎𝕙𝕪 𝕚𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕠𝕣𝕥𝕒𝕟𝕥? A kinetic chain assessment is designed to identify dysfunction within the human movement system (HMS) - overactive and underactive muscles. Eg. Your shoulders and head are falling forward creating a convex ( rounded outward) spine - showing your personal trainer that you have WEAK muscles in your mid and upper back. This can lead to things like headaches and other problems. This is called “ Upper Cross Syndrome”. You also get other ones in your stomach protruding forward with a back arch or knees caving in - all causing pain and other problems due to weak muscles. This is something a Personal Trainer 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗔𝗟𝗪𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦 when designing a personalised exercise program for their clients. Therefore 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗭𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗦 take more knowledge and WORK than general generated exercises. THEREFORE, they also cost more. Personal trainers study LONG & HARD hours on EVERYTHING about the human body! Even how your organs work, bones & joints in your body en every single muscle and it’s function. Never question a price AND never underestimate a Personal Trainer and their knowledge. #yougetwhatyoupayfor #uppercrossedsyndrome #muscleimbalance #IamaCPT #keneticchain #education #personaltrainer #fitness #morethanjustexercise

With typical upper crossed posture, the lower cervical spine sits in flexion, the upper in extension. The lower cervical extensors get deconditioned over time. Strengthening the lower extensors can be super helpful not only for posture, but for pinched nerves, breathing, thoracic outlet syndrome, and even carpal tunnel syndrome. Doing neck extension exercises with a towel is an exercise I prescribe frequently for this. Here's a video: https://rfr.bz/i9n8r9p

5 perfect exercises to end the week, especially if you’re rounded over a desk, computer or baby all day! MAIN GOAL: reverse the posture you’re stationary in majority of the day! We’re doing that here by: 👉opening up the back of the ribcage 👉relaxing tension at the front of the chest 👉strengthening the upper back 👉down regulating the body to relax overall tension Whether you do 5 or 15 reps, just focus on your breath, moving slow & NOT forcing anything. Allow your body to lead as you relax into new ranges. The foam roller I’ve been using for about 7 years now (!!!) is the @intelliroll 🙌 Been my go-to ever since and anyone who comes over & tries it understands why Use code “DOCJEN” for a discount & snag one for yourself! Hope you enjoy this little #FridayFlow ♥️☺️ Repost from @docjenfit Thank you letting us be your go-to foam roller. 😁We love and appreciate you. The photo above is an image of someone with upper crossed syndrome. This is a muscle imbalance caused by poor posture, sitting for prolonged periods, and repetitive motions. It is characterized by rounded shoulders, a forward head position, and tight upper back and chest muscles. This postural imbalance may lead to neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, and breathing issues. Standing and walking exposes the body to gravitational forces, which ensures the proper activity of our muscles for good posture. When we sit for prolonged periods of time, the stabilizing muscles become weak and lose the ability to stabilize the scapula bone. Our bodies compensate by using mobilizing muscles (muscles that are meant for power such as upper trapezius) to stabilize instead. However, these muscles then overwork and become tight because they are not meant to stabilize. This causes pain, restricted range of motion, and myofascial restrictions. Neck pain is a common condition that acupuncture can treat. Many people hold stress in their upper back muscles causing these muscles to be tight or painful. Other people slept in a weird position and wake up with a stiff neck. Many of us work at a computer and look at our phones daily. This overuse activity can cause poor posture and body mechanics which can lead to neck pain. Technology and knowledge work is great for so many reasons, but it can keep us from using our bodies the way they were meant to be used. Here are some things you can do to help with your neck pain: - Make sure your work space is ergonomic - Get up every hour from your desk to walk around and stretch your muscles - Use a heating pad on tight and painful muscle - Look up yoga stretches for neck pain And if you've tried everything I've suggested and you've had no relief, then try acupuncture. Acupuncture can alleviate stress, loosen tight muscles, relieve painful knots in upper back and neck muscles, and activate weak and inhibited muscles from overuse and poor posture. Üst çapraz sendrom; günlük hayattaki çalışma şeklimiz, tekrarlı postür hataları, sürekli aynı pozisyonlarda günlük yaşam aktivitelerini sürdürme gibi sebeplerden dolayı boyun ve sırt kaslarımızın zayıflamasına hep aynı pozisyon süregeldiği için kasların uzamasına , gerginleşmesine ve kas dengesizliklerine yol açar. #üstçaprazsendrom #uppercrossedsyndrome #uppercrosssyndrome

Taylor Swift?
