Adventures with Adeline: Kauai edition When Carmie asked if we could bring her favorite doll, I took a deep breath and said “Of Course” even though I was hoping for a vacation from Adeline myself, tbh. I can’t even guesstimate the total sum of hours I’ve spent over the last year playing make believe at all hours and hauling Adeline to whatever activity Carmie wanted so I could clap her tiny doll hands 🙄 she’s obsessed with this babe and plays out everything that’s on her mind with it. So, I *usually* oblige. And now Adeline’s seen more of the real world at her fake age than I could have even imagined. And that’s pretty funny. Our driver in Taiwan made us point at the cherry tomato but look who is too cool for that 😎 Jokes aside, it was a really fun experience and we weren't charged for entrance fee. The cherry tomatoes are so fresh and you can't stop eating as you are picking them. And it's free if you eat on the spot. Noch eine Woche in Australien 🇦🇺 Nach knapp drei Monaten in Down Under haben wir unglaublich viel erlebt und wurden überall wärmstens empfangen ☺️ Rio hat riesige Entwicklungssprünge gemacht und durfte hier wundervolle Momente durch Kinderaugen sehen. Nach dem (für uns neuen) Campervan-Leben in Tasmanien durchquerten wir den Südwesten Australiens mit einigen der schönsten Stränden der Welt. Und nun sind wir nach einem zwei Wochen Aufenthalt in Brisbane, gefolgt von einem kurzen Stopp an den Whitsundays, im Tropical North Queensland angekommen. 🌴 Hier fühlen wir uns landschaftlich ganz oft wie in unserem geliebten Asien. Überall ragen die Palmen hinauf, es gibt viele Wasserfälle und es ist tropisch warm. Dafür regnet es zieeeemlich oft. ☔️ Schade, dass man an den Stränden nicht ins Wasser sollte, denn hier lauern die Salzwasserkrokodile 🐊 und gefährliche Quallen 🪼 . Dafür gibt es jede Menge andere Dinge zu erleben - allem voran der Regenwald, den wir per Seilbahn, Zug und zu Fuß erkundeten, und natürlich das Great Barrier Reef 🪸. Das gönnen wir uns morgen als letzten größeren Ausflug auf unserer Reise durch Australien. Australien hat sich uns von der schönsten Seite gezeigt. Und wir sind unglaublich dankbar für jeden Traumstrand, jede Begegnung mit Mensch oder Tier, jede Wanderung und jedes Strahlen von Rio, das uns hier geschenkt wurde. 🥹 Aber sind wir ehrlich: Nach den Roadtrips mit zwei Monaten Neuseeland und drei Monaten Australien freuen wir uns auf unseren „Urlaub“ von der Weltreise. Denn die beiden Länder so eine lange Zeit mit Kleinkind zu bereisen hat es schon in sich 🚙. 🏁🏎 Race the Waves, Bridlington 🏎🏁 Yesterday was the start of the annual Race the Waves event in Bridlington which takes place over the course of 2 days in Bridlington each May. I took Max to see the cars with my mum and stepdad yesterday and it's safe to say he loved it. Race the Waves is on again today at Bridlington South Beach starting at 11am. As well as the Race the Waves event, there is also a food festival taking place in the town centre from 10am. If you live locally or are visiting Bridlington, there is plenty available to keep you busy today 🏎🌮🍕

Just a few of my favourite toys/games for traveling ✈️ (shop online under “the travelling shop”) travel highlight here too! Games: What am I - It’s so fun! Kept our toddler entertained for a good hour (and I quite enjoyed it too!) I’ve also got a pairs game, fishing game, heads and tails snap etc. If you shop “games and puzzles” you’ll see them all. If you take them out the boxes into bags it saves extra space! Crafts: Make your own rocket (no glue needed!) colouring books, sticker books, plus magical pens to keep kids amazed! The magic slate too….no mess! I tend to keep these in my bag all the time anyway for emergency entertainment 🤣 Puzzle books: Piece the 1 piece back into each page so there’s not tonnes of pieces to lose, but enough to keep little ones entertained. The torch books are cool too. Bowl with a lid: I often find when we come on holiday they don’t have many kids bowls/cutlery, so I always bring my own. Plus some fruit for the kids to take back to the room for first thing in the morning. The bowl with a lid ALWAYS comes with us! (This time I’ve bought 2 🤣) Cutlery in a case: no brainer for little ones! (I always have these in my bag anyway) Backpacks: To carry all the goodies! (I have soooo many designs) Swim stuff: I’ve got loads of lovely swimming costumes, swimming rings, boats etc too! ✨ What’s your travelling tips for pre-schoolers? 🙌🏼 These are just a few of mine. I often receive respect for traveling with three children. But I don't think the number of kids matters that much. I believe that the family dynamic and the ages of the children are WAY more important! AGES If all children are roughly in the same age group, it's easier to do things as a family because you can choose interesting activities suited for that age group. DYNAMIC Having a good family dynamic makes everything easier! And for us, both on previous trips and now on this trip, the dynamic has become better and better over the period of traveling longer. I think the only "challenging" thing we do is travel with three children in two different age groups. This often means we have to split up, one parent doing an activity with the oldest two, and the other with the youngest. But you also get to experience a place on 3 different levels (adult, kids & 'baby') which is a perk! Do you think the amount of kids make travel easier or more difficult?

This little medieval town is so charming, packed with history and culture. . 🌟 THINGS TO DO IN KOTOR AS A FAMILY: - Wander through the beautiful little streets of the old town. - Walk the city walls. This is the most popular thing to do in Kotor, we actually decided against it as it’s 1300 stairs and it was hot and I would have had to carry Jaxon! - Stroke feral cats. I’d seen this was a thing to do in Kotor, personally, I can’t think of anything worse but my kids were obsessed! - Pick out fruit at the farmers market, located just outside the city walls - Take a speedboat tour. We absolutely loved this boat trip.
