I didn't think I was gonna make it to the start line, let alone finishing 🥹 #SpringRunOff @runcrs is one of my fave races in Toronto and today we got perfect weather in full force. 🌟 I considered DNS even until this morning. Heck, even until the race was about to start. 🌟 I was cleared to run but mentally prepared to walk the whole time if I had felt any pain. 🌟 Ended up walking all the downhills, could feel the pressure on my quads and gait was off. Uphills were fine. I AM smiling!!! 🏅 actually, 2023 is the year I finally decided I don’t care about smiling during races. I started to really go for it and actually hit a new PR. Trying to decide if I should run the Toronto Waterfront 5 km again this year (my annual final race) or if I should go for the 21.1 km for a new challenge. I love the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. In 2010, back when it was the Scotiabank Marathon, it was the first half marathon I ever ran (probably in the same sweater as pictured here 🤣). I’ve always wanted to run the full marathon but the summer heat in Toronto is pretty killer and training is cray. Also, the race has gotten huge! It’s a lot more fun for me and my partner to show up for the 5 km and leave before everyone especially since my visual impairment makes crowds really difficult.
